I installed the factory uconnect about two months ago and really like it. I intended to go to my dealer and have him enable the number dialed, battery level ect so it would show on the center gauge when I make a call. A buddy with a StarScan tool tried to enable it right after install and we concluded his efforts were unsucccessful. However, I just noticed that when I " receive " a call, all the call info shows up on the center dash gauge. However, I dont get the same info when I send a call. So, is my uconnect fully enabled or should I be getting the same info I when I make a call as when I receive one?

Can't help with the first post but aynone who uses the word ****** in a post deserves an answer.
The factory u-connect is a handsfree phone system. There are other options out there if you did not get your car with this but the geniuses on the forums figured out a way for most of us to install it after the fact.
Mopar Supercenter was selling the whole kit a few months ago when a bunch of us did it. You change over your mirror to the one with a mike in it (and oyu get auto dimming then as well) and the rest is plug and play - if you do not have the right connector (I did not) in the A-pillar on the ddriver's side you need a custom harness that is fairly easy to install.
It's a nice system and on the nav radio it displays the battery level, incomin gcall etc.
There are lengthy threads about this but one in particular goes into the whole install with photos.

We are still selling the kits. We are currently working on a new harness design so those who have base models with no wiring going to the A-Pillar will also enable the auto-dimming mirror.
As for post #1, I cannot figure out why they could not successfully enable the UConnect system with the star scan. Basically they just tell the system that there is a HFC module present, thats it. From your description, sound like it is enabled, for the display would not show if it wasn't, only the radio would display.

The behavior you are seeing is not uncommon, even with the u-connect from the factory. Apparently, not all bluetooth phones have all of the features you are talking about.

With my verizon palm treo650, none of the display features worked initially -- the phone basically saw U-connect as a hands free head-set. Palm did a firmware update that enabled most of the carset features -- I still don't see the battery level.

So, IMHO, your install is probably okay, it is most likely an issue with your phone.

Thanks birddog. My inital post may have been confusing. In it simplest form, if properly enabled should my dash show the t/c and battery of incoming and out going calls or just incoming. Mine only shows info for incoming. Anyone with a U conncect should be able to answer this or at least tell me what they are seeing.

By default the EVIC display won't show the info for outgoing calls but you can switch the display with the steering wheel buttons to show it. For incoming calls, the EVIC display automatically switches (and you can use the steering wheel controls to switch back to your regular display).

The U-Connect is very specific, and you need the "Hands-Free Profile" enabled Bluetooth phone. Not all phones that are bluetooth have this option (but most newer ones do)....the EVIC in mine shows everything..outgoing number, incoming, voicemail icon, message icon, signal, etc......It got the U-Connect option, not add on after.............I would think that if yours shows some info in the EVIC, it must be the phone....just guessing though.

The U-Connect website lists bluetooth phones with this profile, but it's dated. My phone (Nokia 8801) was not listed, but has the "Hands-Free Profile" Bluetooth.

I only see the outgoing phone number if I use U-Connect to dial the phone. If I dial the phone, from the phone itself, the phone number does not appear in the EVIC.
