I'm hoping that someone can answer a few questions for me. I currently have the standard single disc radio. I'm looking to upgrade to the 6 disc radio for 2 reasons. 1: Well...its 6 discs! and 2: Id like to have the song artist displayed while listening to Sirius (I have XM in my truck and have grown accustomed to this).
1. Is it a direct radio swap without re-wiring or modification to the opening?
2. Is the Sirius receiver part of the radio or is it part of a seperate component located remote to the radio? In other words if I swap radios will I have a different Sirius subscription? If the Sirius receiver is part of the radio I'd have to make sure the new radio has Sirius?
Also I should mention that I have an 07 R/T. 07's come stock with Sirius.

And if the Sirius receiver is not within the radio does anyone know where it's located?

As far as I know the radios should be a direct swap. Sirius is NOT part of the radio and is a separate system that you connect to the radio. MoparSuperCenter has both radios and the Sirius set up.

And if the '07 radio is like the '06, it won't display the artist/title anyway, just which channel you are on.
You have to push the INFO button for EVERY song to get that - I have had the single disk, the 6-disk, and now the NAV radio in my Daytona. Only the NAV radio seems to display the artist/song info regularly, and even that doesn't appear to be consistent.
I have Sirius in two of my other three cars, and they all default to showing artist and song - I believe the problem is the DCX design, not your particular radio.

Thanks for the replies.
Glad to hear it's a direct swap.
Not glad to hear that the INFO button has to be pushed on every song to get the artist/title. Seems funny that my $30 XM receiver in my truck can display this info constantly but the sirius cannot.

Hmmm ... I have the 6 disk with Sirius ... I have to push info the first time, but it stays on there (either artist, song or channel) until I depress the info button again. Maybe I have a "defected" radio. I don't think I'll get that one warrentied though ...

Very interesting. This what I was hoping for with the 6 disc. I wonder.....is there different models of the 6 disc radio? The one I'm looking at buying is model "RAK".

Same with mine.

Really? Mine would only stay for a few minutes before it switched back to displaying the channel name. Gotta love consistency!
It's not a Sirius thing, though, because both my other cars default to displaying artist/title after a few seconds of showing the channel. It's just the way some wizard at DCX decided to implement the display.

In order for you to keep the song info on the screen, you need to set the clock to small instead of large.

the sirius unit mounts in the trunk.

like someone else said, for it to display the info, change the radio clock to the small version.
I had the same problem, and its a very easy fix :)

Thanks guys.
Just won an auction on Ebay for $130 for a "RAK" radio with 6 disc and cassette (not sure why they still put cassettes in these things).
Does anyone have some pointers on bezel/radio removal and installation?

LOOKING for the same info. As I have a RAK radio sitting in my dining room :knockout:
Got mine from Cool Vanilla on LXforums.

Mine will do the same thing and works regardless of the clock setting (small or large). When you change channels or adjust the volume does the song artist / title remain, or does it go back to the channel info? Mine goes back to the channel info which is annoying since I can already see that on the EVIC.

Is this for the REC or the RAQ?
