Ok All,

The wife loves to drive the new Charger, But she hates the fact that it does'nt have daytime running lights. Why, I don't know.

Anyone have any idea's on how to hook some up ? If I must do this, I would like to hook them up to the front Fog Lights or Parking Lights.

I did look around the internet and drew a blank, so maybe someone here might have an idea..........................

And no, I rather not replace the wife

That's an option that's available in Canada, not here. It involves the high beams used as running lights. There was a thread addressing that here somewhere and I believe it was mentioned that the option can be turned on with the Star Scan computer at the dealer. Check with the dealer.

you can just use the parking lights, set the evic to kill them when the car is off.

Yup, my cars a Canadian and that's how she operates. The highbeams run during the day at reduced output. The weird thing is that when you use your signals the DRL on the signalled side turns off till the signal disengages. I thought this might be a short or something but other drivers have confirmed the same behavior and the delear confirmed it as well when I took the vehicle in for an oil change.

NOTICE: Threadjack in Progress

Hey Noggy,

Is that you or the car that has to shed 40 pounds???

I went through that a couple of years ago, went to a nutritionist/dietician, she said no problem to loose weight. Her advice was, if it tastes good, spit it out !!!

That's definately me and I'm probably 1/4 of the way there. All I needed was incentive. I figure 40 extra lbs is just gonna slow me down!! :exercise:

Ok, I called my local dealer about the Daytime Running Lights, The service writer I deal with was working with another customer at the time, so I am just waiting for a return phone call.

At least I know a little more now than I did before, I never knew that Dodge had daytime running lights on their Chargers sold up north in the great white. And that it may be possible to put them on a US car. Thanks Guy's

There's a thread over on the 300C forum on this subject. Owners report having the option enabled via StarScan. Cost depends on dealer; from free to about $50.

I noticed the prices seem to be cheaper down south as well. The exchange rate fluctuates between 15 and 20% .

Base RT in Canada:37745

Base Rt in US:30195

So if you do the math you're saving around a 1000 - 2000 bucks. Hmmm...it's not a lot cheaper, just a bit...
