One the dyno, the Stage I chip increased my torque, but decreased my to hp number (about 4 hp lower than stock). I've since removed it, and I have noticed a HUGE reduction in the initial "get up and go" when you hit the gas and the shifts (specially on the down shifts). My fuel mileage is pretty much the same without the chip as it was when I had it installed.

thats usually due to the initial combustion before the computer realizes its too rich and leans the injectors out to get back to stoich.
all computers are in a constant "fight" to remain at 14.7 a/f ratio, which i believe is atmospheric pressure.
and the module (a chip actually attaches to the computer/ECM) claims up to 25 HP, but you are actually losing some? 4 according to your post?
i mean i see so many of you guys adding this, and people are reporting LOSSES in HP gains, but small gains in torque, but the gain in torque is simply from the initial flow of fuel, before the cars computer leans it out to be normal.
this wouldnt occur with a chip, or a reprogram, cause the computer would actually keep up the extra flow of fuel.
you figure if this chip was a decent mod, it should be like any other mod, gains on both sides of the board. HP/TQ....
otherwise, its the same exact thing as whats being sold on ebay as a "chip" which costs like 1.99-10.99 depending on where you buy it from.

The loss in hp that I mentioned is compared to a bone stock V6 that was also dynoed the same day. You can check out all our results on my website (link in my sig), on the "Performance Information" page.
Some of the differences in the two cars' pulls (other than mods to the cars themselves) were air temp, fuel octane, etc.

12:1 is closer to the A/F ratio, you are correct that atmospheric pressure is 14.7, but only at sea level.
12:1 is stoicheometric a/f ratio...basically when you have 12 parts air and 1 part fuel you get compete burn.
