Just bought a 2006 Charger RT.
It doesn't have nav or sirius. I'd love to at least have sirius in the car but if a great unit with navigation is available, why not.

I'd like to know what some people have put in their chargers with pics. I don't like when it looks too aftermarket. I like it when it's clean.

thanks for your help

one more question... i bought the charger but will only get it in 3-4 weeks.

because I don't have nav, I have an open slot at the bottom of the center console... must be 6 inches by 1...
anyone could tell me the size of that slot, I'd like to know if a starmate 4 can fit there.

thanks again.

I don't believe so, it is only big enough for a few cd cases, which is really stupid, every time you take off with just a little momentum, anything in this hole shoots out and disappears beside the seats. I went with a sportster and mounted it high up, if you have the stock single cd radio you don't want the factory version of sirius, your radio will only show the station numbers, no song or band info. Let me show you some pix of my install.http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m219/JRB73IN/100_2857.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m219/JRB73IN/100_2805.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m219/JRB73IN/100_2810.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m219/JRB73IN/100_2809.jpg

thanks for your pics.

I have the 6cd radio but no external jack (not available on 2006)

can it be professionaly mounted so it plays through the stereo and not through the fm transmitter?

Yea, but if where you live the radio stations come in real good, which I found that with the charger the rear window grid picks up almost to good! You will not get as clean of a sound, a little static. I Know they make some sort of kit to feed it into the stereo. Does the 6 disc have inputs on the back??

yes, that's what I like to know, is there a way to plug it from the back? I live in a big city and I get static and always need to change the channel I use with the FM transmitter. I really want to plug it directly in the sound system.

I found this thing on ebay... could this be the thing I need to plug a sirius starmate on the back of the stereo???

Do I really need this? I don't plan on plugging anything else than the starmate.

Not to hijack this, but what is that in the middle of your upper console, behind the glasses compartment? It looks like a sticker or a TV???

Ha Ha, I have to laugh, that is actually a Cars the Movie graphic card that looks like the cars are moving when you look at it at different angles. Definatly not sticking any stickers to my headliner. It is slid in the edge of the overhead console. If I was putting in a cam, I think I would put the monitor in place of the drivers side sunvisor mirror.

That thing on ebay looked pretty good. requires a little effort to pull the stereo, but, I will probrably do that myself when it warms up outside. I would love to get rid of the plug in on the front.

Depends what kind of music you like. If you enjoy top 40, don't buy it, but I like blues, jazz, old rock. I enjoy sometimes listening to country (In canada, no country channel). So I really really love sirius. Plus, no commercials.

I will never live without it. I don't even bring cds anymore in the car, I only listen to sirius.

I questioned it for about a year before I bought into it, It is really nice to have whatever kinda music you want we you want. I got lucky and put my unit on my brother-in-laws account as a second reciever, so my monthly payment is only like 8.00, I think the normal is like 13.00, There are alot of talk radio, kids channels, hip hop, rock from 60's up, country, comedy channels, Playboy and Maxim channels, blues, jazz, religous, sporting events, weather channel, about everything you want. You can pause and rewind a song you are listening to. This feature comes in real handy when you are listening to a game on there, I have it set up so whenever a team I like is playing, it alerts me that it is on so I can tune to it if I want. I do find myself surfing alot, my wife says it's like being at home with the satellite TV. I also have a second car dock in my work truck, so I can take it with me if I have a long drive that day, for the most part I leave it in the charger. I would definatly go with sirius over XM. They are growing like crazy and they have howard stern and I like there channel lineup. My wife is a cd person, but I like variiety, and sirius always has something good on, It is great if you are on vacation. You know you have music where ever you go.

Here you go. This is one of the nicest units on the market, the pics don't do it justice, but if you're looking for a complete package, this is the unit.

so, I thought about it since my first post and I don't want a nav in it. I'd like to buy a sirius starmate. All I need to know from all you people here, since I don't have a jack infront of my 6-cd 2006 radio (boston acoustic 322 watts), is it possible to plug it in the back of the radio so I don't use the fm transmitter???

For what it's worth, I have a sportster4. The way I mounted it was I took the suction cup mount and removed the suction cup. I then had a little metal bracket made at work and attached the new assembly to the left of the stock stereo down underneath the dash. The way it is mounted, if you look down through the spokes of the steering wheel on the lower right, you can see the lit screen. It is easy enough to reach the buttons with your right hand while driving. I did not want anything mounted on my winshield where
I thought it might interfere with my vision and anyone could see it.

As for the hookup, I purchased a direct connect from Integration solutions on ebay. You take the radio out and hook into the stock connections in the rear and run the wiring behind the dash. The only problems I have had is that the
connection has stopped working twice for reasons unknown to me and has had to be replaced. Up to this point, the people there have been great to work with and have replaced the unit when it went out (one year warranty).
It is very easy to install but I have no idea why it quits working.

As to Sirius radio, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but I wouldn't trade it for anything now. I mostly listen to Hair Nation (sirius 23) and have heard many great songs I haven't heard since the 80's.

Thanks, exactly what I wanted to know... i'll go with that set-up exactly. I thought of installing it like you did below the dash... I'm not a big fan of suction cups...
I'll do it in about a month and I'll tell you if I experience the same problems.

You won't regret it - it looks much cleaner that way. And with the direct wiring, the Sirius is Awesome! It also allows you to select "satellite" on your
radio by pushing the CD button.
