you know i don't really give you SE/SXT guy any credit, so i was wondering how do you guys think the V6 will mount up in perfomance vs the V6 import{tiburon, Accord, etc}?

98-02 accord v6 comes with 200hp about 170 to the wheels. the tibron comes less than that. But i don't think that the charger can stack up to the altima 3.5/or the 3.5 tl/rl/ or the maxima. I would even go out on the limb and say that the 03 and up accord v6's will give them a run for there money. also the is300's would probably win aagainst the almighty charger v6.

So before running your mouth about how you beat a 98-02 accord in a race. Try something else thats worth while.

Boring...... we all know that the V6 Charger is slow off the line due to it's weight. The Charger has good power once it get's moving and shifts smoothly at the right times keeping the power in the band. There are lot's of factors that could allow a V6 import and also a Charger to win on any given day at a stop light. The original question was how we stack up against V6 imports. Like you bottom banner. We had that in our Pct back when I was with Savannah PD. Atthe time we had a drunk driver raising hell about the poster and stated that America deserved to be attacked and he was glad out guys/gals in the mid east were getting killed.

Well fast forward 2 years and you'll find us in State Court on this DUI case. Both the arresting officer and myself brought this up in jury trial. Did I state that Savannah is the home of hunter Army Air Field or better yet, a Ranger battalion and the 3rd ID. Also Ft. Stewart is nearby us as well.

Once we brought this up, the jury had the look of death on their faces. He plead guilty real fast.

some how I got lost in this thread? But I will say That i believe the charger stacks up pretty well. the hondas usually dont have much torque to back it up. The vq series 6 that nissian uses is another story. tons of torque. but to maximise it you realy need to have the 5 speed to get sub six second runs to 60 mph. I saw an 02 altima run 13.8 1/4 mi with only an intake (not a true cold air intake) pretty impressive for a front wheel drive car that heavy. I still like the charger better than the altima but if the charger did not look as good as it does and have rear wheel drive than I would get one. But hopefully I will have a charger by this time next month .

You most likely payed somewhere between 31-33K for you V8 HEMI, I payed 20,300 for my 3.5 V6 Charger, thanks to my mom's employee discount. (She works for Chrysler, here at the St. Louis, Fenton plant)

so 11 to 13 thousand more for just a bigger engine..wouldn't have made me a MAN...it would have made me stupid.

Trust me I get compliments on my car almost everyday...from people on the highway...gas stations, at they gym...ect.

I would like to have the HEMI, but i'm having a good time with the SE model as well.

ok i will get technical....my orfice tube hurts.....i got to ride in a charger r/t w/the r/t package. i have to say....and this is my opinion. i hate those bolstered seats. the honest to god hurt my back to sit in them, yes i just had back surgery but my seats are so comfy. i am 5'9" and 220. no i am not a fat a$$, i have weight lifted most of my life, but these seats are not for me. the black out wheels - pretty cool. think they should have used a glossy black on the wheels, but pretty cool. the exhaust was blah...yeah it has an extra 10 ponies but save the money and go get an aftermarket catback.

now the really impressive thing - the handling. the handling was f*cking amazing. i really like the suspension setup and the setup on the steering column. very very very nice. not to tight, but tight enough to ride rails on a track!!! very sweet. downside is you can't drop the car. so some kwcoilovers and i will be there for suspension. i am not missing out on much on the r/t package.

For me its the other way around. I'm 5'10 225lbs (I lift once a week). If I sit in the standard seats for too long, my back starts to get tight. The side bolsters in my car keep me in my seat when I go around a corner, they make me feel like I'm IN the seat, not on the seat.

The flat black works for me (although I do have a Daytona...) and the exhuast is alright, but could be better (mine will be after I take car of the broken front bumper :sad: (stupid racoons) ).....


The car does handle like its on rails, point it the way you wanna go and hold on!!!!

So now, I get to fix a freakin trailer after I go to the dump.

you are not kidding about the turning.....we were pushing it hard in the corners - ok really hard, and it was incredible. to me that is worth the price. but the seats just don't do it for me. my buddy is about your size and he fit in the seat perfect. as long as he is happy (and you guys are happy) then i am happy. is everyone happy?:happy: i aggree though, it is a matter of preference i am just very comfortable in my car. i told my buddy today, "it was fun riding in your car and all but i feel like i am cheating!" something about being in your own car.

crazy_luck - the car my bud has is a black charger. it just didn't fit that gorgeous finish. from the pictures i have seen the flat black works with the daytona. they are nice on the daytona. another thing about the exhaust though....he has driven the daytona and the r/t package - he said for sure the daytona has a louder exhaust signiature. so that kind of answers that question that people have - he has already orderd the mopar/borla exhaust - can't wait to hear it!

let me say this to all - this is my opinion and i think the price for the package is worth it alone for just the suspension setup and steering improvements. my problem with the suspension package is that you can't drop it so kwcoilovers are the only answer. but i had to get headers first.....i wanted more speed -handling is next.

my friend, I'm 19 years old, I go to college...I work part time, i dont make that much money. So I liked the Charger when I saw it, and my parents decided they would pay half the rent....if I take care of the other half and the insurance. They were never going to agree to buy me a 33 thousand dollar car, especially when we're still paying for two other cars (my dad has the Chrysler 300)

Now I'm not complaining...or crying...just explaining, why I couldn't afford the V8. Don't get me wrong, I love the car that you drive, all power to you...and when they ask you what you have under the hood....say a 5.7 L V8 with pride.

but by your standards there are a lot of little girls walking around (driving around), and a lot of those little girls are probably twice the man you are. I dont need to hide behind my ****ing engine to prove my manhood, and if you'll kindly accept some friendly advice, you shouldn't either.

The are some guys who love to stir the pot around here, don't give them any reason to keep firing back! There are almost 10 pages of happy Charger owners (both V6 & Hemi) who are all cyber friends & and could give a HOOT about what's under the hood!

I am nearly 30 years your senior and I could have spent the money for anything I wanted (although I am far from rich). My reasons for picking the SXT are as varied as everyone else's decision for selecting their Charger model.

Ingore the pot stir guys and interact with the cyber friends. I promise you will enjoy your experiences in the forum a WHOLE lot more! :happy:

Just remember Ron....That what you think you mean, and what others think you mean are two VERY different things! And no, I don't believe that EVERY forum member knows what your likes and dislikes are. It would be arrogant on your part to think so. All the smilies in the world won't help that.

I know from your posts that you are studying to become a vet. No matter what field of medical practice you are in, you will find that a positive "bedside manner" will keep your practice financially healthy. This is a good place to work on those skills!

Oh no little boy you started this one... now you guys know i was trying to be nice. i held my tongue when they started that SRT hood thread back, i even stop talking to the guy selling the clear bras. i actually started this thread to shead light on the V6. but there are idoits in the world. and if we let them stay they are going to think that there smart. Now this guy said something and i'm not falling for that bigger man crap. Cuz i have stated plenty of times that i not judging V6 drivers cuz everybody has there reasons. the point of that saying is that men like V8s. but i'm getting fed up w/having to explain everything i put on this thing. and as far as the geek response. i have been a member since april(ithink) and i am no where near the top poster(no offense GD :embarrese )i have a love for mother mopar(and not shinny cars). so i have been wait on a new charger since the 80's. while you are just hopping on the band wagon not even knowing where its going or how it got here so maybe you should just @*#$& a #$*%!

This section is for the discussion of the V6 lineup. It is not here for the "V8" owners to try to belittle other members of this forum.

I regreat that we must close this thread because it has degraded into a childish, chest thumping display of inferiority complex, but it has.

Behaviour like this will not be allowed and I will hand out bans if necessary. This is a warning for everyone else down the road who may feel the need to do the same.
