Yes, please show us. I have the 8500 and ordered the hardwire kit. I have the Beltronics RX 65 (bought out by Escort I think) in my red charger and ordered a hardwire kit for it as well. I am apprehensive about pulling back headliners or pillars to install and was thinking about having it done at the dealer. So please show some pics:)

I took this picture to show the wood dash kit I had painted in Silver Steel. But you can see my escort, to the left.

I have always added a tint stripe to the inside of my front windshield. So when I suction cup mount the radar, you don't see the suction cups or the radar detector, from the outside. If you look, in the picture, you can see the escort wire going just behind the rear view mirror. It then goes through the slot, in the middle of the headliner. Run the wire towards the driver A pillar. You will need to pop back the A pillar. Run the passport wire through that. Then work your way down the side of the dash. Find a power source to tap from.

I even read that some 300Cforum members shortened the wire length by tapping into the rear view mirror for power. I believe the SRT Chargers come with a powered (auto dim feature, etc.) mirror.

If you have other vehicles. You can buy more hard wire kits and install them in all of your vehicles. Then take the one escort with you from car to truck to car again, etc. Daily commute, family vacations/road trips, etc.

I have a custom made bracket being shipped that holds the RD right under the mirror.

What length invisicord did you get?

I got a 12 and it also comes with a cable tie. Can't beat it no wire cutting and no warranty problems

I found some pics of the invisicord installed. This member went with the 8" length invisicord, $14. I was going to order the Escort hardwire kit, I will try this instead, for the Bee.

That is a great bracket made of metal not plastic but you need the bigest one in diameter and that is bigger than .75 I think it is .90. Talk to joy and ask her what she sold to John Toth for his Charger

Those are pretty cool. Do you take down your RD all the time or leave it sitting open like that, under the mirror?

Also how fast can you yank it down if being pulled over by the pokey?

Thanks.

All you do is the same as if it were on the suction cup mount. Hit the top button and it slides out. You use the bracket with the passport minus suction cups

What happens when the suction cups loose suction and the thing falls off the window?
(Hang from the power cord from the mirror I guess -- but do you think it may eventually damage your mirror -- rip it from the window or break the electrical connections?)

How is the performance from the sides and rear... the mirror is kinda in the way, but it looks great. Did you use the standard base that came with it?

mcinfantry

sides is ok. its really just to let you know you are passing them. a cop cant radar you from the side. no doppler shift.

its never fallen off the window, and if it did, i guess it would hang. the mirror hasnt blocked any signal that i can tell from the rear.

i have an in-car camera next to it! and yes i used the standard base.

got a quick question... i am just getting around to pluging the invisicord in, and on the instructions it says to plug the yellow into the slot closest to the passenger and the black in the 3rd closest to the passenger. when i look at the install pics here, they are in the first 2 slots, which makes more sense. Which way is the right way?
