I bought an overhead console with the homelink buttons. Mine didnt have it.
so i went to install it thinking that as usaual, there would be a plug hanging up there not being used. Nope.

I dont really want to pull to hard on the headliner to see if there is one tucked in behind it somewhere.

also, how do you get the rear light covers off. I dont want to break them. The other thread showed how to remove the fronts, and someone asked about the rear but everyone ignored it and kept talking about the fronts, and that guys car that caught fire.

the other day I mentioned that there must be two options for cabin filters, since I bought two of them, and they were different filters...paper and one was carbon, but no one responded or acknowledged it.

Sup dude! Nice to see you online once again. In case you forgot you sold me your QuickD Throttle Body and intake back in year 2000 on my Dodge Ram and they are still on that same truck too! Great job! Hows it going these days?

When I bought the charger I had to promise I wouldnt modify everything on this one. The truck was enough.
I bought the charger because the 8mpg was killing me in the durango.
I dont know why I was able to tear apart the truck without thinking about it, but on this Charger it seems like a sin to tear it apart.

you have to come out to the so cal events at beach burger, check out the so cal section of the forums.

Sorry Man, that's a whole new headliner. you can't even buy the harness separately it comes with the headliner. had a customer the other day with the same problem. e-mail for a list of everything that you can add to your car with the factory wiring.

if its just power, I can figure out the plug and then just cut it off and splice in somewhere like the sunroof or lights to get the power.
from the looks of the console, the brain is probably self contained. Hopefully its just a power line.
My buddies car has the homelink, so maybe I can use his to test the wires to see if they are just juice and ground.

I have the road and track, but its pretty much stripped. Just seats and sunroof. but thats pretty much all I wanted(so I thought). But for $25,000 it was a pretty good deal.

I thought the homelink was integrated into the sunvisor on the Charger...

the buttons are on the angled surface behind the sunroof button. I cant think of anything else it could need. Its not a computuer, it pretty much just a over glorified car powered garage door opener.

Im just afraid to pull to hard on the head liner once I have the console out to see if there is another wire laying around up there.
If not, then I will have to tap into some power near buy and then rig up some sort of connector.

On my truck, I added another power seat, I ended up just figuring out the wires, and then just cut off the connector and made my own. Still works.

It's not just power, the signal has to be bussed to the CCN (cluster) and then sent. PM me with your E-Mail address and I'll send you the wiring diagram

Can't find a part number anywhere on that connectior, unless it could be this one:

MODULE-ELECTRONIC OVERHEAD - BLACK 6 WAY

You need to specify how many connections it has.

I was looking to do this a while back but was told it would need other parts. I am curious as to this diagram. Any chance you can post for all to see????

I really don't think that could be the connector. The pinout refers to the sunroof, even though there are far too many connections for it to be the sunroof switch connector.

i don't know if this helps... when i use my homelink it displays its use thru the evic. also when programming it if i remember correctly it displays info thru the evic. when the car alarm is on the homelink is taken offline to prevent someone from smashing the window and pushing the button.

before you go thru all of the headache it would be nice to see if the homelink that you have works with your garage door.

i have done a write up on programming the homelink and my garage door. was not a easy process.

I'm interested in adding homelink too. What parts are required, and where can I get them?

Here's the part number for the pigtail. I'll post the diagrams and the pinout tomorrow

Still nothing... In the meantime I added Homelink to my car but it is the self contained unit that just required power and a ground to operate. I would still rather use the Charger specific Homelink once it gets figured out, but for now, this works.

Titan, was the homelink a mopar product or an aftermarket thing?

I was already messing with the headliner trying to get my sunroof to stop rattling, so I just swapped the harness at the same time. It plugged in and the liights are working now on the buttons. I still dont get the little house to show on the display on the dash. I am going to try to program it without the little house display and see if it works.

i bought the overhead from cleveland pick a part, and then I called them and they found the harness. If you dont want to drop your headliner, it would still be easier to cut the section of the harness and splice it in. I had bought the connector kit from mopar, but I was afraid to try it because all the wires were white, and I knew I would mess something up.

What does the connector look like that's in the A-pillar? Is it square or is it a rectangle? Do you remember what the part number was?

there is a big white connector in the a pilar. if you buy the new headliner harness that has the overhead wiring, you just remove the old harness from the connector and install the new one. Its the exact same thing except instead of only having 2 wires for the over head, it has the third that plugs into the homelink.

i will look for the package it came in...should be in my toolbox.
