Two 12" Alpine Type X subs. Too much bass?

Well I was given 2 brand new 12" alpine type X subs. Those things are rated at 2000w each, 1000w RMS. I would be pushing those subs with a JBL BP1200.1 amp. Has anyone had one of these subs? would one be enough or do I go with two? And what kind of enclosure would be best for these type of subs. ported?

do both and use a sealed encloser for tighter bass. You never port comp. speakers, thats just for crap speakers to make it sound better!

i say port em unless you need the room in your trunk. you can get good sq from a ported box. you might need an extra battery also.

I Have 2 12" Alpine TypeX subs in sealed enclosure powered by Rockford Fosgate Power 3001bd amp and it sounds like crap it's like i'm not getting the lows out of the subs just distortion. I had the amp & subs installed by a reputable audio store. I can't figure it out...
