Did a search on this and couldn't find a post with
a definitive answer. Is it possible and has anyone
done it? If it's possible how far back do I need to
go? Found a brand new (12 miles) one for sale,
waiting to hear back about how much of the system
he's selling.

There was this thread (http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21296)a while ago in case you didn't see it already.

Thanks, didn't see that one, but it still doesn't seem as if anyone
has actually tried this. Guess for a $100 it may be worth it to be
the guinea pig.

I would do a Brylcreem mod before messing with this and keep the stock resonators. I'd rather have the resonators designed to kill the drone on the 5.7 and MDS.

The SRT exhaust sounds great...much better than any of the RT variations...sometimes I wish I had just kept mine..I believe you will like it..:)

Powerwagon put an SRT8 exhaust on his Daytona. But he heavly modified his car,you might acually loose some power at the bottom end,do to the increased pipe size.Give him a shout and see what he says.

Thanks. I already have the brylcreem but the mds on the freeway is killing
me. Was thinking this might be a good way to get better sound and maybe
pick up a little performance without picking up mds drone. Also will be doing
mopar LT's this spring and thought these might work nice together.

As soon as you put those resonators on say bye bye to the drone. You might want to install the Daytona exhaust like I did its perfect no drone and I have the Mopar LT's and that added even more sound.Good luck

Your set up is what I want. I just happened to see a guy
selling a stock srt8 catback for with 12 miles on it for a
$100 and thought if it fit and worked right I'd do that instead.
I told him I'd take it, waiting for his response.

I installed an SRT system on a Magnum RT, it definitely sounds nicer from inside the cab, but not louder (dB-wise, at WOT) from outside. When MDS engages, There is a barely discernable lower frequency present, but again it is not louder than the existing dB level within the cab (I checked with my dB meter). It is not intrusive, and at highway speeds one does not notice it at all.
If someone is riding with me, it takes a few time for MDS to engage before they clue in to the difference (lower frequency) in exhaust note.
Considering the 5.7 OEM system's maximum flow rate is ~311CFM, and the OEM SRT8 system flows a maximum of ~511CFM, this is a significant decrease in back-pressure....

I have a 5000 mile set off a 06 SRT Magnum that you can make me an offer on- complete from headers to tail pipe. You would have to pay for shipping though.
