Your kicker sound system

I know there have been alot of posts on the performance of the Kicker system in the SRT8, I for one really dislike the system. It has no balls. So I have taken it upon myself to contact kicker regarding this issue and inform them that I am not the only one who dislikes the system in the car and think it needs an upgrade of some sort. (On a side note) I went to my local dealership and sat in a 07 CSRT8 and cranked the system up and all I can say is WOW. The system blew my CSRT8 system away. I played Heavy Metal, R&B, Soft Rock, Rap and it had good sound. I have contacted a very nice guy at Kicker who is going to take the post from this board and send them to the guy who designed the system for our cars and see what they come up with, He also stated that they had made some improvements to the amp in the 07 model. (Go figure). I will keep you guys posted as to what I find out and what there resolution will be.

I wasn't to hot for mine at first until I tweaked it abit. Actually debating about stuffing the sub box with fiberglass/polyfil since I have some time off to screw around.

I had to seriously cut the mids and highs as the interior speakers seem to be loaded with 2-way tweets or something. I typically listen to progressive metal. I'm able to crank it up to around 22 - 24 before it starts distorting.

[Although you shouldn't have to...] Replace the headunit. Once I got rid of the OEM piece for my Z1, the kicker system came to life with a fury. It was like apples to oranges, no joke.

After my phone conversations today, I understand the only change they made to the 07 was the program. These amps are FLASHABLE they can load info onto them the same way the dealer flashes are TCM and PCM. The gentleman I have been speaking to told me he is talking to the guy who designed the system about upgrading the program to the amps in our cars. I have already spoken to my dealership and they told me if I get the software they will flash it for free. Next conversation with Kicker will be after the XMAS holiday will let you know what happens.

I can't wait to hear (no punn intended) how this turns out. I actually preferred the Boston Acoustic system in my Daytona to the Kicker in my SRT. I've not been happy with the system at all. :smoke:

I traded my 06 SRT8 for a Super Bee and I can tell you the 07 Kicker sounds better than the 06 Kicker. I was not at all happy with the 06 Kicker.

On a side note the Sirius doesn't sound that good on either car. It sounds too tinny to me...sounds like the DJ's and the music are in a tunnel.

Ok, After the long holiday. I got a email from kicker telling me the guy who they need to speak with will be back in the office on Monday, Jan 8, 2007 and he will have a answer on what they are going to do. Please do! I was about to purchase a Kicker L7 and a new amp, but if I can flash my existing Kicker to sound better I'd love to go that route first.

I totally agree the BA in my Daytona sounded much much better then the SRT Kicker System..... I thought I was "hearing" things. One thing I did adjusted the fade two notches to the rear and it helped somewhat.

Maybe we will get a tsb for our speakers next. Its a shame for how much more they cost.

I called and spoke to the guy yesterday and the person he needed to speak with was in meetings all day. TRUST ME I am staying on top of them. I will hopefully have a answer before the end of this week. I'll keep you posted.:knockout:
