Moparsupercenter has put together a hood prop kit using the 300 hood lift supports and hardware. This gets rid of the cheap prop rod and gives your Charger a more stylish look. This kit also works on the Magnum. We have this kit listed on our website under Dodge Accessories then look under Hood Props. It is part number PKLXPROP.

thier site lists them for 50 bucks and change... which is close to what I paid at the local dealer where I got mine for employee cost

They would give your Charger a more stylish look when you have the hood open showing off that Hemi than having the stock prop rod holding your hood open.

Yes, it is a lot nicer to pop the hood and let the nice gas struts hold it up instead of having to use the whimpy hood prop. It is just cooler!

I am a little disappointed, however, on the price for this kit! I paid just about $90 for the 2 struts and the 2 ball studs at the bottom of the struts! That really blows!

If anyone is interested in this installation, there is already a thread on it. Go to http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=463&highlight=hood+struts and go to post number 34. Bstowers has very nice detailed installation instructions all the way down to what tap you need to thread the mounting hole for the ball studs (holes are there, threads are not). Thanks bstowers!! You da bomb!
