Along with the Dodge Viper SRT10 coupe, the latest offering from Chrysler’s SRT group is the Dodge Charger SRT8. Powered by a 6.1-liter Hemi making 425 hp and 420 lb-ft, it goes from 0 to 60 mph in a shade more than five seconds, Dodge claims. No mean feat considering the four-door sedan weighs 4180 pounds. The engine makes 85 more hp than the 5.7-liter Hemi in the standard Charger.

I was thinking the same thing. "I don't see that color in my brochure!"

Is that really just the reg red is a certain light? Or another custom color entirely?

If that is the available red and it looks like that "sometimes" depending on light and such then perhaps that is the color I want.

I still have not decided.. I WILL own one either way.

Might wait until '07 though... decisions, decisions

If that color isn't offered it should be! Could just be the way the lighting is in the pic but the car looks great. My only complaint about the review is it's too short, I wanted to read some more. :)

Funny what a bad camera, or bad calibration on someone's monitor will do to a photograph. Digital photography is great, but it's just a whole 'nother can of worms.

That kinda looks like my "Deep Cranberry" (see here for more) (http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1784) -- trust me, Dodge, you owe me royalty rights if you use it! :)

Thanks dude ... it was just sort of an accident. "Fun with color balance" :p

Hope our differences are water under the bridge...

The AutoWeek and the Edmunds/Inside Line are the only two SRT8 articles on the web right now. Not to be too forward, but they're tracked at http://www.carbuzzard.com (along with over 12,000 other reviews). The full reviews aren't there, but a pull quote and the links are.

Welcome, CB. Not quite though the only ones, but close.

Automobile has one, but admittedly, its really an on-paper rewiew since they just drove the 300C, and listed whats different about the Charger SRT-8 and made assumptions. Kinda sloppy jounalism, really. Do you have a link to the MPH magazines online blog that has the burnout vid? If not, you should.

Lastly, theres an online engineering mag I found that had a very indepth discussion of the structural design of all three LX cars. If you cant find it, let me know, theres a link buried around here somewhere:)

Thats the Inferno Red at dawn or dusk. The color is very bright red on a sunny day, and works its way down to what you see there. Its really a beautiful color at times. Lots of metal in the paint too. Remember its a pearlcoat.
