I got a mopar and it looks awesome under the hood!! I love hearing the sound that comes from it as well.

I love my Mopar.
But I would look into the new Airhammer if you want the best bang for your buck!

I also have Mopar CAI. I had the dealership install it, ~$400. Looks simple though, could have saved a few bucks and done it myself, but would have taken me longer and I would have been nervous about voiding my warranty. There is a noticeable difference in tone when above 3000 RPM. At WOT, roll down the windows and hear the swoosh. It actually softens the engine noise and makes the car sound and feel natural between 3k and 5k RPM. I haven't had mine at the track, cannot give you any numbers, but it feels like it accelerates faster. Even if it doesn't show significant track improvement (but it probably does) - it's worth the investment just for the new tone.

Mopar CAI, two bolts, two or three hose clamps. Couldn't be easier, 20 minutes - 30 minutes tops.

Have fun and enjoy.

I am still partial to the Volant CAI because I like the case and how it looks in the engine compartment.

Seems to be alot for moper, but i suggest you go with the KN, it looks nice and definatly a sound improvement. you can also hear it sucking in air like a beast.

This is like the EXHAUST questions. Ask what they think is the best and people will say what they have.

So then, I'd say go to reported dragstrip times...

I think most intakes you see used here are probably roughly equal (the Airhammer stuff I read could put that one somewhat above, however)

I chose Airaid because it matched my car and had a cool little trinket air directer from the factory scoop.

If I had a black or silver SRT, I would have chosen the Mopar just to keep everything equal :)

I have heard the K&N, Mopar, and Airaid CAI all installed on stock rt's, and the Mopar sounds the best no doubt about that. So that's why i went with the mopar and I have been very happy with it. Took me 2 hours to install... cuz i dropped a bolt.... DO NOT DROP A BOLT. freaking impossible to get it out of there. hahaha. It would have taken about 20 minutes had i not done that.

If you want performance go with the Air Hammer. None of the other intakes have ever shown any measureable HP gain on a Dyno and some even reduced HP.

If you want looks, go with the Mopar or Volant.

Seems like everybody is doing it themselves. I'm wishing I would have. Must not be a warranty breaker. Obviously, if I install a CAI, it won't be covered under my warranty, but does it give them any grounds to decline service on the engine, transmition, etc? What about other mods, especially the disable ESP mod (cut the violet/light blue stripe wire)?

I love my K&N FilterCharger. Looks old school...like me. Sounds sweet.

I went with aFe stage 2 because of the extra large filter and intake tube. It's also cheaper than Mopar.

Has anyone ever had any warranty issue after installing a CAI, or do you have to put the stock unit back on when you take it in for service?

I have the K&N, 63 series. I like it, but I'm thinking about the fujita. A true "cold air" setup. check this thread

Wyckoff Chrysler shows the MOPAR for $261.95 ($269.95 SRT8)

Hope this helps.

If you want performance then the AirHammer ($350) or aFe Stage 2 (~$250 on ebay) are your only real options at this point. They have been proven through dynos to increase power.

No issue. I even had the dealer install the CAI that I bought from their parts dept. :)
