well, i havnt done anything YET(just got it less than 1 week ago).

but i do have plans. I dont think i want to do any performance mods short of a CAI for some growl. Had i been about the performance i would have gotten the hemi. i was going more for looks so im going to do some aesthetic mods.

-tints (prolly 30%... not sure whats legal here in miami) but legal tints all around
-cabin air filter
-honey comb grill w/ classic scripted charger emblem

-maybe a radio upgrade. (ive been hesitant on changing the radio to anything NON-factory because im not sure how it will look wit that grey dash trim. if anyone has changed the headunit to anything non-factory send me a pic of how it looks)

Well...the only thing so far I have added are rear molded flaps. I couldn't stand the crap that kept getting on the backesnd.

Hi all!

Already added to my Black SXT...


Two tone Katzskin leather seats (charcoal & silver). Works great with the rest of the interior.
Rain Guards. Also looks great, and they're pretty much a necessity in Seattle.
Matte black '06 Charger R/T grille, sans logo.
Looking to add in the near future...

Spoiler. According to the parts guy at my dealer, the only thing available from Mopar right now is a matte black (like the R/T).
Door entry guards.
Neither a painted spoiler, or the door guards are available yet. I just need to be patient. Although that matte black spoiler might look good with the Metallic Black paint.

I had not heard about the Zoomers do-dads, but after checking out their website, I'm intrigued.

- With those 2 "Performance mods", I'm really not sure that I got much of a "boost". - I may try the Jet Chip mod that Spoonerock added to his car. I may do that in a month or two.

Put on the Mopar/Charger mud flaps today in preparation for winter. Over Thanksgiving, it will be time to pull of the chrome and put on the SE steelies I got off ebay.

OU812: Not sure if K&N has a part number for 2006 V-6 yet. K&N used my SXT for a test fit using the same kit as 2005 Magnum V-6. They installed it at their shop and it fit like a glove. You should be able to order using the Magnum part number. Hope this helps.

FYI for all those who have not yet heard or seen this:

When it comes to aftermarket exhaust, jet chips, and CAI's for the 2006 Charger V6 line-up, the parts are compatible with either the Dodge Magnum or Chrysler 300 similarly equipped with the V6 engine (for model years 2005 & 2006). Many distributors have not yet updated their catalogs to include the 06 Charger. Here are the correct part numbers for Jet Chips and CAI's:

Jet Chip Stage I - #90405
Jet Chip Stage II - #90405S

K&N CAI - #63-1117
AirRaid Qiuck Fit - #350-171

I like the Airaid fine. That is not to say, however, that it is the best. It is easier to install, and about a hundred bucks less than the K&N.

Main difference is that you use the existing air intake tubing that comes factory. Others might say that because the factory tubing is not smooth, it could cause some air drag between the actual filter and the intake manifold on the engine thereby reducing its effectiveness.

Personally, I had heard stories that folks were breaking the temp sensor when they were trying to remove it from the factory tubing, to install in the new. I guess they are real easy to break if your not very careful. I thought I read somewhere that a replacement sensor goes for about $50, so I didn't want to go through that. With the Airaid, you dodn't have to worry about.

I also like the fact that the Airaid uses the existing lower half of the factory filter housing as a base to hold the unit in place.

I guess the bottomline is I am happy with it, but not necessarily passionate that is is THE right one for everyone! :happy:

A guy here in Houston moded me up with a K&N on the end of the factory tubing and we did not use any of the factory filter housing. It sits high enough that there is no water worry and gets optimal air flow.

Yes, they are pretty easy to install. Took me about an hour and a half to do all four front & back. I did spend some extra time cleaning all the dirt off the wheel wells, and anywhere the flaps cover the body. I didn't want any residual mud/dirt rusting away at the car under the flaps.

They've worked great so far.......now we'll see how they do in the Chicago winter slush!

Wow! I was debating the Chrome grille on my Charger---it is black too. Your car seems to demand it with those rims that you've added. Bravo.

Well today I decided to take the side mouldings off the charger, and I must say she looks very nice with them gone. Im glad I decided to this on. Pictures will be posted later when I take pics of it. On the other note, When I was washing inside the door jambs I noticed some bubbling in the paint and went to touch it and all the paint wiped right off. This has me a little bit upset. Anyone ever had to use a touch up paint on the Brilliant Black Charger? If so what paint/brand did you use?

Im am so po'd right now. have done any performance mods YET, but purchase some decals, the charger stripe and tail light blackouts from Revolution Motorsports. I knew not to try and attempt the stripping till this weekend. I started with the tail lights, and thought I was doing a good job. keeping it wet, smoothing out the bubbles, was looking great till the water started to dry and I could see bubble at the fold top of the light and did my damndest (is that a word) who cares, could get the bubbles out and by this time it was sticking really good. Got a hair dryer and try to peel it back off and the film is now streched and the edges are curvy so I end up pulling the whole thing off after and hour and half work. I am still fumming. Told the wife and she is like well just take some scissor and cut it..rrrrrrrr. I cant cut it cuase it will be too short and not cover all of the tail light. I am wondering if I could trade her in, the wife that is.....(sorry for typo and long post) My Charger is better than my wife, I can beat on it and she doesnt complain....well, not yet..

Well I'm new to this site, I got an 06 midnight blue SXT 3 weeks ago. I got R/T rims, a custom pinstripe that follows the body lines down the back door. I have the 6 disc in dash w/ MP3 and 20 % tint all around. I want a CAI, dual cat backs and a jet stage 1 chip but it may be a while since i'll be on a deployment for 6 months starting mid- september.

I traded in my '02 Mustang GT (V8) last month, partly because I'd about maxed out the mods (CDC Shaker/CAI, K&N Filter, SuperChip, Magnaflow Catbacks, etc., etc.), and partly because I wanted better mileage (was getting about 15 in the city),

But you know what, the '06 Charger SXT is more fun to drive - STOCK! I saw it on the dealer showroom & had to have it. They did some mods (two-tone leather, charger decals, upper & lower billet grill inserts, 18" wheels).

So I had to splice into the power wire for the cig lighter. Works and looks great though!!

For the rims... look at Forte's Miami F15s. They look like you're describing. I'm not sure if they make 24's, but I'm thinking about getting them!

I believe you will run into problems with the 24's on the front if you do the drop--hell you may have problems even before the drop.

Alright folks, I am BRAND new here. Been checking this site for a few days now, decided to post...never had a new car, never modded anything. Currently in Iraq, picking up my 2007 Brilliant Black SXT when I get back to Germany. CAN'T WAIT!! The thing I am going to want some suggestions on is the noise level. Between the CAI and exhaust I want something that will give some good low sound, but not too much. Also, I got some package with the car that includes an "Underbody Sound Deadener" does anyone know if this is effective?, or if it will interfere with exhaust mods?

Well, I finally did it. I broke down and got a second tail pipe... :)

I went with the Blastin Bob's glasspack kit. It was super easy to install and the sound is exactly what I was looking for. Not too loud at all.

First post i am looking for an exhaust kit for the 2.7 that I ahve had for 2 months and need to change. The car is just too quiet rolling around. Online I love the sound of the Zoomers but don't know of a Dealer in Canada (Manitoba) that can get them. I am also thinking of a CIA and Window Tint will have to check legal limits on tint yet.

Any suggestions of a good sounding full dual cat back kit? Zoomers, Dynomax are 2 that I have had suggested.

I like the Airaid fine. That is not to say, however, that it is the best. It is easier to install, and about a hundred bucks less than the K&N.

Main difference is that you use the existing air intake tubing that comes factory. Others might say that because the factory tubing is not smooth, it could cause some air drag between the actual filter and the intake manifold on the engine thereby reducing its effectiveness.

Personally, I had heard stories that folks were breaking the temp sensor when they were trying to remove it from the factory tubing, to install in the new. I guess they are real easy to break if your not very careful. I thought I read somewhere that a replacement sensor goes for about $50, so I didn't want to go through that. With the Airaid, you dodn't have to worry about.

I also like the fact that the Airaid uses the existing lower half of the factory filter housing as a base to hold the unit in place.

I guess the bottomline is I am happy with it, but not necessarily passionate that is is THE right one for everyone! :happy:

Just thought I would give you guys what the LH community has learned over the years (and can apply to the LX 3.5).

There is an underdrive pulley that is used on the LH 3.2/5 by lots of people with great gains and no problems made by ASP. I don't know of anyone running it on the LX, but the engine below the intake is identical. ASP doesn't list it on their website, but if you call them they have it available.

I know for a face that the lower intake manifold's are the same. It has plenty room for improvement on it. A guy I know in Cincinnati had his ported and polished by a machine shop and I did mine myself. We both had great results.

Um, yea, ixnay on the ornado-tay! There's a few good threads around here with the full rundown, but in short = it's useless and may actually DECREASE your performance. (...or at least take it out of your siggy!)

Well, I am pretty new but here are my mods to date...I have a Midnight blue Dodge Charger SXT.

Performance:
-New Cat back duel exhaust system
-Airaid CIA
-Ram air hood with functional air scoop that diverts air directly to the air box

Non Performance External:
-Billet grill
-New LED tail lights (I tinted them myself with 20% tint)
-New turn signal bulbs modified
-Functional Ram air hood
-Rear spoiler
-De-molded and De-badged
-22' Chrome "GOLD" rims with Kumo tires
-5% tint on all the back window and front window sun shield
-30% tint on front windows
-Low profile wind visors
-chrome pillar posts

Non Performance Internal:
-Satellite radio
-7'' touch screen dual cd player
-4 6x9 in infiniti speakers all around
-2 12'' subs in trunk with box
-1 4 channel amp for speakers
-1 2 channel amp for subs total system running at about 700 watts
-1 farad cap
-front doors and entire trunk dynamated

Well, that is about all for now I am still working on it every time I get a little extra money.
As far as my wish list for mods here are a few:

-lambo doors
-clear side markers
-lower billet grill
-front and rear facia
-maybe mud flaps
-xenon blue lights for inside cabin
-guage pod colors changed

2008 SXT Black 3.5L (purchased for my daughter for Christmas) Since my daughter will not be 16 until her B-Day in Feb. I am not too concerned with performance mods, but we still need to make the car look right!

-An exhaust mod because the rear looks plain "wrong" with the dual exhaust cut outs, and a single outlet. I am not looking for performance, just for the rear to look right.

-22"s will be the first mod, because the "chrome clad aluminum" wheels are a joke. They came as part of the option package for the rear wing.

-Window tint, so her brothers stop calling it the "fish bowl"

-Sub box being custom made for 3 12" JLw1.5

-We already have the JL monoblock 500 amp for the subs and the 6400 for the mids and highs

-Either the JL clean sweep or head unit swap

-Mids and highs will be JL, not decided which model as of yet

-Some type of hood scoop perhaps even non functional

I guess we'll start from there.....

got my SE the Thursday before Xmas..so I'm starting slow till I get paid on the 25th!!!

Interior...painted the instrument panel bezel, shifter bezel and shift knob insert to match body color....

Planned interior payday -billet tech shifter insert plate and shift knob
window tint on sides and rear window
all four speakers replaced


Feb- Some type of head unit replacement

March- Amp for coaxials

April- sub/amp installation

Summertime-upgrade to 18" rims and tires

Well, i love my car. i live in an urban setting riddled with ol school gangs on every block. my friends live south side, west side and i am pretty close to the loop.

Didn't foresee posting anything, but...

1. tinted windows all around 21% until got a streak of tickets from a local police officer so pulled back on the front windows

2. Sirius satellite radio for the monster commute

3. 10" subwoofer and amp to go in the trunk. Sounds are pumpin' but not waking up the neighbors, like a great cup of dark roast coffee

4. 20" foose nitrous wheels with nitto tires 255 / 45 / 8.5 i think

5. borla dual cat back exhaust system just showed up tonight

6. mopar air intake

And with 7 inches of snow tonight i had to leave the car in the burbs at work and take the train home...

i will take some photos once i get the exhaust installed.
