Hi I was wondering what the best way to shave my 3.5litre badges off the side would be? I heard dental floss works?

BTW I'm not trying to hide what's under the hood I just honestly don't like those badges there and no I won't be replacing it with hemi badges

I used floss to get under the door guards and get them started. I've heard fishing line works well, too.

I'm in Florida so on a hot day I just pulled off my door guards. Very simple actually.

Shouldn't be much different with the badges.

I have not done this yet, but want to do the same. The badges are gaudy and I want to replace them with something like Charger. Not hiding the V6 either. Besides, Mustang owners can't read, and will try to race you anyway.

Let me know how it goes with the fishing string.

Piek was a typo. I am now registered under PikeBoy98. I am a Pike frat guy that graduated in 98. It has just stuck as a good chat ID, so I keep using it.

Hey Quick1,

I tried the floss method on mine, but ended up almost cutting my fingertips off. Once I got the badge (or door guard) to start lifting off the car, I used a soft shoelace to finish the job. A lot easier on your fingers...

I'm going to do this in the next couple days. Did it leave any adhesive on that paint?

I used fishing wire and a hot day. It does leave a little bit adhesive on the paint but very easy to get rid of. I used this product. http://www.autogeek.net/megoclbugtar.html then just hand wash and waxing. The car looks so much better.

Just use fishing line and then put some baby oil on the remaining parts and it will take it right off. I used this to take the the side spears off the doors and worked great.

I have not removed the badges from my charger yet, but on my truck, I just barrowed the wifes hair dryer and heated up the embles and they popped off. I then used soom GOO-GONE to remove the remaining deposits.

Goo-gone is pretty powerful stuff. I think I'd be afraid to use that on the paint.

i second that about the goo-gone. id be afraid of using that on paint. i want to debadge mine too, maybe put a classic scripted charger badge on there.
btw, whats the physical diff between the fender side emblem and the regular one on leeparts.com. i want to put one on my honeycomb grill or replace the one on the back.

When the car is parked in the hot sun works well too! We are having Indian Summer now, that is why I say hot sun.

I took off my 3.5's using a hair dryer and floss (the hot water method did not work well!) and the
Goo Gone. After finishing just use compound and a little wax and she will look as good as new.

By the way my CHARGER script looks great!

I used a piece of hard nylon pry stick and goo gone - worked like a charm.

Does anyone know if you can take that rear rams head off and not have a hole in the car? Does it have that alignment post or not?

Also - Where are you getting the Charger script from the old rides?

Goo Gone is fine on most painted surfaces, just don't confuse it with Goof Off. Goof Off will eat through the paint (and your fingers). Plain old acetone works great getting that gooey residue off as well. That's what I use.
