Anybody else have this problem? It deosn't seem to happen every time I drive the car, but it sometimes feels like the car shudders in 3rd and 4th gears. I'm going to take it to the stealership when I get back to my normal duty station, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue, and how much luck you had in getting it resolved.

C'mon man - you know electronics right? Fix it!

J/K - No I have never experienced this problem. Sorry you have to.
Report back once you get it fixed and lets us know what it was.

LOL yeah, I know a thing or two about electronics. But if its not trying to blow me to pieces, the motivation just isn't there.

Do you have any problems when you are shifting it manually or is it in auto mode only.

Well, I don't have any problems shifting, per day. Its when its already in gear, cruising down the raod, the car kinda feels like its shuddering. If I floor it, it goes away. If I'm on the brakes, it goes away. Mainly in 3rd, but sometimes in 4th also. It shifts great, smooth as silk.

hmm I feel my ride doing the same thing... very subtle for me but it's there, I made a thread:
http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22544

I described it as "chuggy". Coming from an 1st year LH car that had buggy programming, it almost feels like the same thing (in that case it was the lock-up torque converter locking and unlocking repeatedly)... but way less severe, barely noticeable to me actually.

hmm one last thought, we're back on rear wheel drive, U-joints ?!?!?!

My car had this problem and has now escalated into this...

Mine is unquestionably a transmission "chug", but then again, Mercedes designed hardware or not, it's still an automatic... aka the "slushbox". I suppose I expect perfection but there's always something goofy going on inside a modern automatic transmission it seems.

My thing is more of a subtle feeling vs. a service issue... and really only noticeable when I'm toiling in traffic or tolerating the speed limit. My bet is it actually is the torque converter. I'd have programmed it to cycle at longer intervals, if it has to cycle at all... and now I'm having flashbacks to my '93 LT4 trans.

EOD, can you explain the issue at more length, have you had it checked ?
