Talked to parts at Dodge dealer here. Try putting the key in the door, turn to open, remove key. Then your remote should work.

Reminds me of a time I left the key in the ignition of my WRX and locked the doors. "No big deal!" I thought because the car was in the driveway and I just ran inside to get the spare key and remote. I ran back outside, pointed the remote at the car, pushed the button and...nothing.(Must be some security measure that prevents the remote from working if the key is already in the ignition.) I must have pondered my next move for a minute before I realized..Hey, maybe I can use the KEY to unlock the door...worked like a charm...I am a brilliant man. :embarrese

What I should have said was "sprinkle it with holy water and say ten hail Marys". 10,000 un-employed comedians and I find one working for my Dodge dealer. I was serious, he was an idiot. :fuming:

I had the same problem at Fry's electronics. Pressed the panic button by mistake, and the car went nuts. While the horn was honking, I put the key in the ignition and started the car. The horn is STILL going off. Put it in drive and started moving. STILL going off. NOW I feel like an idiot, my friend is madly looking through the owners manual to try and figure out how to stop the honking.
I stopped the car, opened the trunk, closed it, STILL honking.
Finally, I pressed the panic button again on the remote.
"DUH!"
That stopped the honking and we were on our way. But this time without checking out anyone looking over my cool ride.!!!

I don't recall saying 10,000 hail marys, but the parts guy is still a schmuck.
