Anyone know if the Airaid CAI is worth it for the 3.5L? I haven't really heard much about them, but they are so much cheaper than K&N and other brands. I went ahead and ordered one- just wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect. Thanks.

havent heard anything about Airaid but my K&N investment was worth it. Such a huge difference in HP.

I finally got my Airaid CAI in the mail a couple of days ago and installed it yesterday. I'm very impressed- can definetly feel a big change in acceleration, sound and maybe a little in power. Now I just have to figure out an easy way to get my damn airsilencer gizmo out of the way. Not easy when living in an apartment- no garage= no way to get under the front of the car. Any suggestions?

Good question... is it accessible if the bottom of the air box is unmounted ? That is, if the bottom of the airbox can be detached from the car from above... damn I could use a shop manual, are there any out for the Charger yet ?
I just dropped in a K&N drop-in OEM replacement but long term (read: next week lol) I think a CAI system is a better bet... leaning Airaid but wondering abut the Mopar alternative (if one is even available for the 3.5). I like the protection the Airaid provides to the filter, seeing how it sits in the base of the factory airbox.

I've done a lot of research, and am pretty certain there is no mopar CAI for the 3.5L. For some reason finding performance mods for our V6 is near impossible. Don't the manufactuers realize how many of us want to get the most out of our awesome Chargers?
Agreed, if anything we should be more interested in performance mods as our cars were designed to massive hemi specs ! It's extremely good to know the transmission and other systems are more than capable of handling a few extra horses.
I took the bottom of the airbox out today, very easy, one screw up front. However, there is no access to the feeder tube assembly as it is protected by the massive amount of shielding on this car (wondering if that will be better or worse in the winter, when all the northern salty slush gets everywhere). Has anyone found a decent how-to for this "bladder" removal process ? I've only heard that it's a "quite easy" 30 minute job once you get underneath the car.

K&N makes an actuall CAI. I've heard good things about it. For $321.04 directly off their website, it's a lot more expensive than the Airaid that I paid $164.58 for. I'm extrmely happy with it, and from what I hear, all CAI's are pretty much exactly the same anyway.

if anyone is still interested in the K&N cai, you can get the 63 series on ebay like i did for $184.... and they do make some kind of difference.... i had a mopar cai (metal tube) and it got VERY HOT!!! the K&N is some kind of plastic and stays MUCH cooler... just my 2 cents hope it helps

Just bought a Araid and a stage I jet chip. Hope this helps a little. My exhaust is rattling on something. I will take the car to a lift when i get my two new parts. I think I have to raise the back hangers it seems low. But they sit even.

From what i hear here If you have a aftermarket Exhuast and a CAI you should use stage II

I have heard Stage 2 for exhaust and intake. Make sure your exhaust is not hitting the crossmember. Mine was doing that when I installed it. It's about halfway under the car. Either loosen the exhaust and use a jack to raise it then tighten it or use washers to create more space. Good luck!!

I have an AirAid box with and S&B Filter and LOVE IT!!! Much cheaper alternative to the K&N system. On another note I have the stage 1 chip with CAI and Flowmaster Exhaust and I LOVE IT. My friend has the stage 2 chip and just for gee wizz we put that in my car and I honestly could not see or hear or feel any difference other then my wallet getting lighter becuase the stage 2 requires 91 octane... Just my two cents.

Like I said on my other posts, did not feel the difference!! IMO, it's a waste of $$.

Dub06,
Reading all your posts, it's apparent that you are very disapponited w/ your car. I hope that you are able to perhaps trade it for something that will keep you from posting any more negative comments concerning V6s. This forum is full of individuals who seem to think that it's neccessary to show their personal dissatisfaction to those who are quite happy w/ their car as well as their mods. I'm not saying that you don't have an opinion, everyone does, but every comment that you have posted seems to be directed to kill people's buzz! Please trade your car so you'll be happy, or better yet, buy a house! That usually satisfies people and keeps them content for a while until you want to start adding on to it too! Chill man, it's all good...by the way, your car looks great. OK...I'm finished.
