Had the first oil change done today at Montrose Dodge in Germantown Maryland. took about an hour (also had them put on the front license plate brackets:( ). When I walked in to the service department was treated courteousley and professionally but indifferntley. Oil change cost about $47.00.
The charger was returned the way it was recieved, no extra dings, dirt, mirriors and seats were not moved. Radio station wasn't changed.
So all in all I have no complaints but am ambivilent about returning for future service.
The service guy was polite but indifferent...didn't ask how I liked the car, how it was running or anything.
Even the greeter at the local Lube Center where I take my Tahoe and other cars is more enthusiastic and always talks up the other services his establishment offers while he's writing up the work ticket.
When my speedo went dead in the Tahoe, I took it to Fitzgerald Auto mall here in Frederick and the service manager was very attentitive and even had the car detailed for free before I got it back. It was the first time I had been at this dealership for any kind of service (didn't even buy the Tahoe there.)Granted, fixing the speedometer involved replacing the whole instrument cluster ($600.00) but since he made me feel comfertable and like he actually gave a sh*T I ended up having some other things done and spent an additional $900 that I wouldn't even have considered going to Fitzgerald to have done, all because the guy took an extra second to relate to me as a human being.
Reading other peoples experiences here with dealerships and service departments I guess I should consider myself lucky the Charger came back in one piece.
Bottom Line: I didn't expect the guy to throw a party because I brought a charger in for an oil change, but if he had spent a few extra seconds showing any interest at all in having my business, he could have made the dealership an easy few extra bucks. Now, instead of driving to Montrose Dodge, I'll probobly give Fitzgerald Dodge a try for the Charger next time it needs something.
