I installed the K&N AirCharger back in March. I was in the engine compartment tonight and noticed that the rubber tubing around the heat shield has almost completely separated from the anchor that holds it on. Argh! Anyone else had this problem? Can you recommend a good glue? I was thinking of using silicone.

a silicone adhesive is what would advise. sounds like you are on the right track.

Wow, yours stayed on there since March? I put mine on in June and by the middle of July it had come off about 70% of the way. I'm going to remove it completely, then slit the entire length of the seal so I can "straddle" it over the lip on the airbox. Then I'm going to get some 2" diameter seal, slit it, and put it over the 1" already on there. If needed, I'll use a couple of pop rivets at the corners to hold it permanently. My idea is to build up the seal to the point where I will have a nice tight seal against the underside of my RamAirHoods.com hood when it finally gets here. I just have to wait for the hood so I can get a better idea how much I need to build up the seal.

Thats one of the reasons why I sold mine. The AFE is superior in performance and finish.

I call K&N about this after mine did the exact same thing, they shipped me another in about 3 days no questions asked.

I've got a Airforce One CAI on my Tahoe, seal lasted less than six months. I put a Airraid CAI on the Charger, seals are almost identical. If it fails I'll probably go to AFE like AZCHARGER. What the heck, maybe I'll just turbo the beast.

Ok I Called K&n Today About There Air Charger About How It Seals To The Bottom Of The Hood. They Said It Really Doesnt Seal It Off That Well Because Of The Indentions Of The Hood. Thats Why Lots These Aftermaket Cai Get Heat Soaked Over The Stock Air Box.old School Now Take A Peace Of Anything Hard Clear Plastic 3/16 To 1/4 In Thick Would Look The Best And Put It Over The Top Of The Aftermarket Cai.this Will Seal It Tight So No Hot Engine Air Will Get In.u Can Use Elastic Hook Straps Over The Top And Hook Them Below The Cai Box To Keep It On .

Tried something different this time, I cut each corner and installed the corners tight together, seems where the 90 degree angles are start the seperation from the clamping cord. Will let you know if it works. To I check the clearance from the hood to the top of the box, I can see indents where mine make contact.
