The Best 93 Octane ?

With my Superchips tuner set on 91 tune I get a fairly loud pinging unless I have a good name brand 93 octane gas in the tank. Does anyone have a preference for the best brands of gas or are they all the same?

I try to stick with one of 3 gas companies, and they are Chevron, Shell and Texaco. I was put onto these gasolines years ago by an overwhelming majority of the LT1 and LS1 owners that I will now not put anything different in the tank of my Charger.

Chevron is the only gas that goes in my car! Alittle more exspensive but its worth every penny.

The Superchips people gave me a download to help the problem a few months ago. It eliminated the pinging if I use a high grade 93 octane but is still there with anything else. I guess this has to do with the timing advance.

76 Is the famous gas station here....I however run with Shell....and Ive been putting in shell ever since I bought my car in january.

Da book says run 89 and I run 89 octane. No pinging here. I do thunk you have an issue with the tuner.

I don't have a flashpaq, but I prefer Amoco Gold (BP 93 now). I had a '70 Challenger R/T with a 340 and a 600 Eldebrock carb 10 years ago and that was all I ran then. Started using that with the Charger R/T recently and I'm happy. Is there any benefit in switching? Any difference in Amoco Gold now that it is BP?
