Anyone try and install the factory Sirius themselves?
I got a Sirius portable unit as a gift but it requires you to slap a magnetic antenna on the roof. Not sure if I want to do that or just go for a hard wired option.

Just a thought. I use the personal antenna for the Delphi MyFi xmradio reciever(I bought it before I had the charger, so yes I now have both). I just clip the antenna on the sun shade of the sun roof or on the headliner around the sunroof depending on wether I have it closed open or vented. That way I dont have to mess with running wires or drilling holes or scratching paint ...

That sounds good. The Sirious unit I have says you msut put the antenna on the roof. The factory version has you drilling holes in the roof. A rep over at Sirius mentioned that they are coming out with some type of personal radio in October that sounds more like what you have.

I have the NAV and Entertainment package. Do you know if you just plug into it somewhere when using a portable unit? Looks like it is XM ready.
