Sounds like they burnt out to me. You can replace them if you want, but they'll probably keep burning out. Seems to be a common problem with led interior lights, its happened to me as well.

are you saying they stay on, even with no key in the car at all? I'm not sure what would cause that, however, l.e.d.'s can be pretty finicky. Their optimum brightness exists only over a very slim spectrum of electrical inputs....some fix overpowering by installing resistors - to then gain a brighter light output. On the other hand, if these are l.e.d. retrofitted "bulbs" then they should already be wired in a way that takes advantage of their optimal brightness. Generally I've only heard of problems w/ dim l.e.d.'s only when they're wired directly into power as a single "diode" - not a bulb such as you have........just some info at least :)

They are not burnt out.. You'll only have problems with LEDs if they're not receiving the proper voltage. Too much will destroy them, but this will not be an issue for us.

I've been checking mine and they don't glow when the car's off.. Also, I don't see them glowing during the day either. The only time I can see them glow is at night when the cabin is dark. Even then, it's difficult to see.

I would not worry about, but if you want, re install the original shields that covered the old bulbs. See if the LEDs are bright enough and I bet you won't notice the glow anymore.

The glow alone will not draw enough power from the battery to cause battery failure..

i emailed the company i got them from and they said it takes almost nothing in terms of voltage to light up the leds. this is called bleeding. it is so small of a voltage that its hard to even get a reading on it. i was told that that little bit of power is present with the stock bulbs but is not enough to make them light light up. so all is good with my car and the bulbs.

Yeah, mine do the same but only when the car is running. It's normal.

You will know when you have burned out an LED. At first it will start flickering (if you didn't kill it straight off). Then after a few days it goes completely dark. These festoon LED bulbs have 9 mini-LEDs inside them so if a few go dark you may not notice but you will notice the flickering. It's very annoying.

wow - i love these forums! Installed my led lights tonight and noticed this "bleeding" thing. I was primarily concerned about electrical system issues, but I guess it is not a problem. I'll keep an eye on them though.

See, I told you that your car wouldn't explode.. :)

I put my leds in this morning but notice that they are very dim when the ignition is off (lights on) unless both side are lit. Anybody else have this problem? Also, they seem kinda loose in the sockets. Not too happy with the initial results but I guess will wait till it gets dark tonight to see what the look like.

read posts above...I have the same issue shouldn't be a problem though I can't tell they are on while driving even in pitch black condition

well the tabs that hold the front ones in are very flexable so what i did is put the led bulb in and pinched the socket tabs to make it a tighter fit

Hey I have a theory about why the LED lights in the back are not going completely out. When the doors are shut the lights dim slowly. So that means there must be a capaciter in the circuit somewhere. Maybe there is a small charge in the capaciter that is providing just enough power to the LED's to keep them dimly lit for awhile. I've noticed that when my charger has sat for at least a day that the lights are totally off. Or it could have been the battery saver shutting it down.

The LED will light up just a little bit even there is about 1V of power.

Which in this situation, the halogen bulb will not light up at all.

Try reversing the polarity. Switch the bulb around 180*. That might work.
