One surprising thing I discovered once I stated looking at new cars was that several recommended premium fuel (and few salespeople volunteered that information).

For the 3.5L, most of the web car sites/reviews listing specs just say regular fuel, but I've read a couple of places that say mid-grade 89 is recommended. For the current SXT owners, what's specified in your owners manual?

Thanks

Here is exactly what my Owners Manual says:

3.5L & 5.7L Engines

"The manufacturer recommends the use of 89 Octane for optimum performance. The use of premium gasoline is not recommended."

The manual does recommend 87 octane for the 2.7L engines.

I have been filling my SXT with 89 octane on a regular basis.

Owners manual says to use 89 so when I get mine in a couple days that will be what I use :)

Not exactly sure yet. Dealer called me today when he was ordering it and asked what color. I told him I wanted black as my first choice then the blue as my second choice. I'm not too picky though so I might end up with something else to get it sooner. I should find out tomorrow.

I originally had wanted the Midnight Blue, but ended up with Black. Either way, I couldn't be happier!

Well sounds like I will do alright with either color. The problem is the dealers around here don't have many in stock and the dealer I'm getting it from only had the black one. It really caught my eye. I can't wait until tomorrow to hear back from the dealer so he can tell me what he found.

- When I was buying my "SE" model, I wanted Dark Green, which was not available. Dark Green is the way I saw the car in my mind - But, I ended up with the Midnight Blue, which looks great - and for my next purchase in 5 years, I know that I have 2 colors that I like (Dark Green and Midnight Blue).

- Actually, I would have gone with Black - The dealer had to do a dealer search to get my car - So, I told him my color Choices were "Midnight Blue", then "Black", then "Inferno Red" - I'm Glad that I ended up with the Midnight Blue - as I said before, it looks great.

- Oh, I forgot - I have only been using 89 octane in my car.
