I was just wondering about the UConnect system. Does it work through the cars stereo?

The reason i ask is because i was thinking of getting just the stock deck and then buying an aftermarket DVD/Navigation deck and wanted to know if i would lose the UConnect feature

Yes. it works through the factory setup. I don't know if they are making any adaptive interfaces for it with aftermanrket units yet.
