Hey guys, I know it's short notice, but I'm heading out to denton dragway tonight to get some 1/8 mile time slips.

www.dentondragway.com

If anybody else cares to join, just let me know what you'll be in as I'll bring my laptop with me to the track and will check back on the forum ocasionally.

Hope to see some of you out there. I'll post results as I get them!

Later,
Ryan

That's the plan :D

I actually just got to the track and they are currently fixing the track. not sure if there was a wreck or a spill or what the deal is. Hopefully I'll be able to get at least a few run in tonight. I'll update as race goes on.

still waiting. Damnit, only a little over an hour until the track closes and I still haven't gotten to run.

Well finally got some runs in. Sorry I didn't update times between each run, I just never took that much time. One thing is for sure though...These cars do not like to hot lap. My best run (also my first run) of the night was a 9.4@76, after that I couldn't break back into the 9.5s. I need to calculate DA still, but I'm sure it was pretty bad.

All in all I'm pleased with the performance. I will post some detailed slips tomorrow...I mean later today :D

DA was 2503 ft.

Not bad at all.

I still have problems figureing 1/8 times. I grew up in NY and all of the tracks around me were 1/4 mile.

I'll get the Dart out one of these days. It still needs a new trans and rear axle build. There is no point in racing with 2.45 gears and a stock transmission that can't grab the torque between 1st and 2nd.

I was playing with a few ET calculators that seem pretty accurate. Assuming my car makes the 300-325 rwhp that I am shooting for, and my weight estimates are correct, the Dart should be running just under 13s.

Of course, that is all subjective to torque, tire height, elevation, etc.

Let me know if you ever want to go out to denton. This is actually the first time I've done an 1/8 mile as every other time I've been to Texas Motorplex to run the 1/4.

Unfortunately they did not have a scale but Ive got to imagine I was coming in at close to 4400 lbs, as I am 270 plus I had my son's car seat in the car still :D

Went there last night. Tempature was over a 100. Best time:

9.011 @ 80.96.

There were a bunch of modded mustangs and imports. beat them all except one mustang that had slicks by .10 of second. he got an 8.930

Sweet time with that temp rander. C06 - I'd love to get back down there in a couple of weeks. I say we try to set a date and get as many of the guys from this board down there as possible.

Does 8/18 work for anybody. If so, let me know and I'll try to set up a meet an greet out there with all of the locals.

Yeah! She's not tuned, so really not pushing all 75 to the wheels. Need to play with some of the pills on the dyno. probably do it next week now that i have few bucks :). Yeah, i think we should all head out. i was the only charger out there amongst ricers and mustangs. Tell you what, though, i was well respected after the first few runs. Some of the imports didn't want any of it and let me do passes on my own, even though there was a line of guys waiting to get to the tree behind me. :)
