My fellow Charger owners,

I am constantly reading posts about handling and weight of our Chargers and seeing both good and bad opinions on the subject. Here's a first-hand experience I'd like to share that happened to me 2 weeks ago.

Setting: 2 lane open road, 3:00am, 120 kph (75ish mph for our US friends)

Circumstance: Next to no traffic... coming up behind a big-rig (1/2 mile) down to low beams.... truck drops behind a rise in the road. Come up over rise and ....

Middle of the Road: Grey/Black Moose (best guess 1000lbs) 3 car-lengths ahead

I'm not too proud to say that was the scariest moment in my life.

End Result: As my heart stopped beating at that moment (as the passenger told me after) that I put the car on the center-line and then swurved (is that a word?) by the ass end of the moose.

I will NEVER EVER doubt the handing abilities of my Charger. EVER

P.S. To our urban readers.... very few people walk away from a collision with a moose. Not to even mention a car, when hit these things will TOTAL a big-rig. When a car hits one, the thing is most likely to come right in the windshield and will ruin your whole day.

Nice move, it is always good to know the car will respond when you need it to.

I know what damage one of those swamp donkeys can do. My brand new 95 Grand Am was just about a write off after hitting one. After the repairs were done, pieces of glass and donkey hair were still comming through the vents! What a nightmare it was. I can recall that spring there were 100 mose were killed within 100 km radius/month by drivers on the hwy.
My husband used to say you had to be a pretty crappy driver to hit them, because of the fact that they can stand in the same spot forever and they move so slowly, he learned to eat his words.:knockout:
