View Full Version : New SRT Hood addition.
Daytona # 77

Just installed the SRT hood today, I've been looking around at different hoods and finally bit the bullet. I will keep the other hood just in case of a sale for a Super Bee! Now to make a few cruises this summer. Next mod is an exhaust, any suggestions??

Looks good but you need to find a way to incorporate the black back into the hood. :)

That looks sweet. I say leave it without any decals. Now you just have to hook up the brother at 139M!!!!!!! ha ha. I'll take mine in black.

the zoomers sounds killer on the SRT-8s.... I was drooling when 1bd4dr nailed the throttle as he passed me in the hotel parking lot in Scottsdale...
Sounds good on the R/T as well.... hard to swallow the price though...
Before I got my Daytona.... I was gung-ho for zoomers.... now I am not sure I want to spend that much doe just for sound...

Looks sweet bud, but I agree with some of the others about getting some black back onto the hood... the orange is overkill without the black accents

Sweet looking hood. I think eventually I am going to get one and put on my TorRed. I agree with everyone else, still needs the black HEMI decal on the hood to complete the look. Thanks for posting pics!

I always thought that first GoManGo SRT8 looked hot. You made a good choice.
I'd probably get DAYTONA going down both or one side of the hood to help match the hips..

Looks nice! I love the looks of the SRT hood. I never understood why that was only available on the SRT's. Every model accross the line could benefit from a functional hood scoop improving airflow to the engine... Besides, it looks freakin cool! :)

I even like it without any black on it. A little more unique....

If I had to add "a" hood decal back onto an SRT8 hood on a Daytona, I'd maybe customize it so that I had only the black HEMI lettering sitting on either side of the scoop, as I'm worried the flat expanse of the original hood decal style would take away from the raised portion of the SRT8 hood. The wording on either side if placed carefully will accentuate the scoop lines.
I like it. I like it alot. When I was considering Chargers, it became evident that this SRT8 hood would be one kickass visual mod for me (I also like the body colour grille "cross" mod on R/Ts) but now that I have a Daytona the original hood real-estate takes on a different value altogether. Also... I have no money left. ;)

Check to see if there is a hood number engraved just to the right of the hood latch.

Randy, love the hood can't wait to see it for myself. I've been thinking about LT headers with high flow cat, but would like to hear them first.
srt4ever, go here (http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14306&highlight=numbered) and read about SRT hoods that are etched with a number at the factory. Mine does not have a number. Although I met a Brampton employee that put a SRT8 hood on, painted at the factory and installed at the dealer, he did have a number etched (sorry I forgot to write it down).

First of all The mango looks great with the SRT8 hood! Second no decals are needed. The hood says all it needs to say without added decals! Nice work!

To the guy in Windsor.......How does the Charger handle in winter?
I am from Toronto, and I am thinking of buying one. I would, of course, buy snow tires as well. I also thought of placing 300 lbs of weights in the trunk.

I didn't have too much trouble at all.. Drove eight times better than either of the Mustangs I owned. The traction control is great.
You should wait for the all wheel drive Chargers in 2007..

Absolutely no problems in the winter at all. I did not use winter tires, nor did I feel I needed them. The ESP and traction control did their jobs. I can't recall a squirrely moment all winter.

Your SRT-8 Hood looks great in Mango Orange. But something caught my eye or maybe it was the angle that the camera took the picture. It appears that the orange hood does not match the rest of the orange body panels. Is this true or is it just the angle of the picture??

I love the SRT hood. I think it gives the Charger a whole new personality. As far as the hood on Daytona#77's car being all body color, I think it looks fine.
Someone asked about pricing. I paid $1262 for the hood package from my local dealer. The package included the hood, duct, and silencer pad.

Great look man. Been thinking of doing it myself. I do think the black decal does need to be incorporated into the scheme.
You asked about exhaust, got the zoomers and they sound great.

Thats exactly the look I was waiting to see!!! I knew the HEMI decal had to be re-incorporated but was not really sure how. I absolutely luv that pic. Next mod for me will be an SRT hood. May I ask is the hood painted with the HEMI on there or is that a decal like the original???

Wow, your comments are so kind. I did have the car as is at Kensington in May and July, actually that is where #77 saw it and am glad to see they went with it. I will be around for future events. I do not have any decals, everything is paint (except the caliper decals). Have a decal guy do the template for the painter to use and remove.
