Go pay a visit to your favorite body shop and have them quote painting it and anything else you might want done. This is a great opportunity to line up the bottom edge of the black with the bottom edge of the tail lights. You'll need to replace the CHARGER emblem, you can reuse the R/T with 3M tape, I pitched the ram head. I bet their won't be a significant price difference and you will be happier knowing it's paint. They can use "trim" black, and it matches the decals very well, or what I did was base black clear mat finish, this gave a blacker black then the decal and has better UV protection, easier to care for...

why would someone pay a premium for the daytona and the change it by painting where the decals are supposed to be?

I didn't buy the Daytona for it's decals, I actually almost didn't buy it because of them. I believe what I got for the extra money was well worth what I paid (10hp from improved intake, exhaust, suspension, and especially the seats, slightly different wheels, limited edition to me does not mean you have to keep the OEM decals). I had the opportunity to remove the decals and paint in place, I did and am very proud of it. One of my 80's car had decals and they dried up after 5 years and peeled, I will not have this issue again. This has made maintenance much easier, the look of the black is blacker and I like it. I left them with a dull finish so it looks close to original, I didn't like the look of all gloss finish. To each their own, I did not buy this car as an investment, it's my daily driver that I will have for 10 years and I will dump it after that like I have my last several vehicles. Some people enjoy modifications and others avoid them, my car is mine and I have never mistaken my car for anyone else's. My friends and family tell me all the time they saw a car like mine but it didn't have the hood (I still have the flat OEM), or it didn't have the painted spoiler. I hope I answered your question kalbc.

...so why didn't you just get the Road & Track package?

Like I said I almost didn't buy the Daytona package, I was in a situation that I had to have a car off the lot within 2 weeks, if I had to do over I would have waited for the SRT8. I made my purchase decision based on what was available and the only r/t with R&T was blue but had some cheesy dash kit and stick on hood "scoop" I just could not take it. I went to several dealers in my area, almost bought another blue one, but then I found myself not being able to stop thinking about the Daytona, so then I found 3 GoMango's in the area, one had tire tread beads sprayed up the rear tires wheel well, the other had the NAV unit I didn't want, and then there was mine - no regrets (other than I wish the SRT8 was available).
Back on subject, any update on the trunk decal RandysWay?
