While on the topic of the Caliber, my wife was looking to get a new ride so we ventured to the dealer I got my Charger from last weekend. They had a nice black one, R/T model, AWD (fully loaded & currently their top model) on the lot. We test drove it, cute little car(but VERY mini-van-ish), and even with their current top motor, extremely under powered. It handles well considering the design, spacious, but not the most attractive ride. This particular one had every available option that Chrysler offered, and was on the lot for $29,980.00CDN($25,400.00US aprox). My dealer basically told me that because they are selling like hot cakes right now, they really don't need to price bicker, but he would do me the favor of taking back my Charger R/T as even trade, out the door, no money changes hands. I was a little shocked, partly because I really wasn't planning on trading my car, plus the fact they he wanted my car with only 3100 miles on it as an equal trade for a 4 banger. My wife actually tried to talk me into it, with gas/insurance savings etc.... Even though I realize that dollar wise, the value was close to what I would likely get on resale, it just seemed like such an insult.... Would I buy one, NO, at least not until the SRT4 is available for a test drive, even then, it had better be impressive... Just my thoughts.........
