Anyone have a guess what it would take to turn a set of stock R/T rims into the Daytona style (see below). Is that just a special paint, powdercoat, what? What kind of shop could do a job like this? Any guess on what it would cost?

I've about given up for the time being on finding a set of wheels I really like, and I just got a look at a Daytona at my dealership and I really like those rims. Seems like a good alternative while I wait for that perfect set of wheels.

I would like to now about the black coating as well. Also I am prettry excited about the SRT8 rims but the stamping of SRT8 is not what I really want. I like the design. I am also thinking about a set of Neeper N5 rims as well. Still have not made my mine mind up.

racer x - that is the only prob. with going with those rims... i don't want anyone to think i am "posing" as an srt8 - i just really like the style...same thing with the srt8 hood. i will have one when they come out.

as far as the rims go bstower - i had a friend who got his rims powder coated. it seems like a reputable body shop would do it for you. i will ask him about the cost...this isn't the "whole" rim so it shouldn't be too bad. i will look into it for you.

Email them over and I'll get them posted.

If I keep the stock 18 inchers, I'm definitely going to have to. But, I keep hearing about how there's this rattle or vibration and even the smartest guys can't find it....

Plus, I saw that thread where they say they're doing a set specific for the Charger. I'm really waiting to see what comes of that.

I've looked, but they're really not my style. I was really wanting something more old school, but can't find anything I really like. I wish the Torq-Thrust II wheels would fit, they're just what I'd like. Well, I guess if I wanted to force the 5x114.3 pattern, they would, but I'm not gonna do that. Plus, they're evil expensive...

same thing with the srt8 hood. i will have one when they come out.
The line forms behind me, get back there.

I found a local shop that does power coating, so I sent them an email to see what they say. Probably won't hear anything until Monday. I'm afraid it'll actually be more expensive than if I had the whole thing done. Trying mask that stuff off can't be any fun.

Personally, and not for my car, since it'll be an SRT, has anyone ;ooked at the Torq-Thrust Ds? I will be putting a set on the 68 Cougar eventually.

Damn it, where'd those come from? Are they real TT IIs? Did they get American Racing to custom make them to fit the bolt pattern? I can only find them in 5 X 114.3, not 5 X 115.

Those are not AR TT's they are a Mustang "Bullet" Style Wheel. I believe they are made by a wheel replica company that does OE knockoffs.
