Just wondering what kind of wax everyone uses on their Chargers? I have been using Simonize (spelling not to good) Is there better wax then others? Wondering about other products used on tires? Glass? Chrome..

I've used several over the years. I tried NuFinish, the "once a year car polish". It's _okay_, especially for older paint. I use Simonize Super Poly for years on a shiny black car, and the results were spectacular. But, I had to apply often, and the rub-off step was grueling.
My preferred polish prior to what I'm using now was Meguiers Gold Class - again, good wax, rub-off is more work than current, and didn't last through the winter.

I'm currently "on" Zaino. It should come with contact information for a local support group. It goes on, and off, as easy as anything I've ever tried. It does not white mark non-painted areas, so is accident free. So far, it lasts a very long time. Provides a deep, deep shine. And, smells as good as anything (well almost) on the planet. Comparitively, I'm not sure how it's priced, but it IS expensive. I just never did a cost comparison, especially one that includes longevity.

Zaino products are sold directly at: http://www.zainostore.com/

Having said all that, there are many threads discussing all of this too!

Although I still think Mother's leaves a "smoother" shine.
TIRES = Meguiar's Hot Shine tire spray
INTERIOR = (seats) Mother's leather cleaner and Mother's leather conditioner.
(dash etc) Meguiar's Quick Interior detailer. (awesome by the way)
(glass) Invisible glass by Stoner

Got all the stuff @ Canadian Tire

I also use meguiars next generation car wax. I have to say, its probably the best I have used. And I have used alot of waxes. My car came to me feeling like fly tape right from the factory. I applied one coat of the meguiars (which I used on my previous car that was black and NEVER showed any swirl marks) and even after about 10 car washes in 3 weeks(yes, I am that anal) it beads the water like I just put it on. Now keep in mind, I live off a gravel road in an unincorporated area and have seen spring rains like crazy as well. Its definately a great wax.

Been a while since I used Zaino. It was nice watching the water build up until they can't hold it's shape and then slide off the car. Zaino addiction symptom #45, standing at the window and watching rain water build up and flow off the car almost like clockwork.

I took the picture an hour or two ago. Anything smaller than 1024x768 doesn't really show how big these drops are.

Arfur LOVES Zaino. That's why he hasn't chimed in here yet - he's cuddling up with it.

But seriously, I read about Zaino here, and it's good stuff. Not cheap though.
I can't say I've tried ALL the others out there, and I'm sure the top three are very good too. The Meguiars top end, TurtleWax Ice, and Mothers. Years ago, I swore by Simonize SuperPoly on a black car. It was a lot more work to apply than Zaino though, and didn't last nearly as long.

I guess I forgot to mention that I use Zymol, the $15/bottle kind you find at WalMart. It seems to do a good job, pretty easy on and off. If I had the time, I'd probably go the Zaino route based solely on what people say and show here on the forums but I just can't spend a whole day (or two) waxing the car. :(

The first time I waxed my Charger, I used TWI. ANd I wasn't totally satisfied with the texture of the shine. I also detected a few minute scratches. So I used my old standby, Mother's, and the shine is beautiful and the tiny scratches are history.

I use Liquid Glass..easy on and off..long lasting shine...a truck I used to have would bead like it was freshly waxed after 18 months....I also go over the Liquid Glass with
Zaino's Z-6 detailer (as recommended by Arfur)....

In last months consumer reports there was an article comparing about 28 different waxes for 9 different characteristics.Meguiar's nxt gen wax wasn't rated very high (9th).Even Zymol cleaner wax was rated 8th.The best rated wax was Black Magic liquid, followed by Turtle wax carnauba wax t-6,Eagle One nanowax,3M perfect show car,Dupont Teflon ultra wax and Meguiar's Gold Class to round out the top 6.As as far as pastes go Meguiar's nxt gen was rated worst. The parameters tested were gloss, durability, ease of use, cleaning, scratching /hazing,plastic compatibility, residue, applicator andcan apply to wet car.I personally have been using the Meguiar's Gold Class Clear Coat wax, liquid form and Meguiar's #26 professional yellow wax (carnauba) with great results

I initially used Black Magic. I thought it was pretty good. But it does not compare to Zaino for looks and ease of putting it on and taking it off, IMAO!

My detailer started me up on Liquid Glass. I like it alot, saves on having to wash as frquently and helps BIG TIME after returning from Northern Ontario with a front end full of insects, they slide right off with rain or a water spray at the self serve car wash. I have also bought Liquid Glass wash for in between wax jobs.

I have a friend that used to power polish Porsche's and Audi's.Now he does it on the side for friends. He's been doing my cars once a year for 15yrs now using Lustre Glaze(perma-shine).It takes about 3 hours to do and the cars look fantastic.Adds a ton of depth to the paint.I sometimes do a wax in between shines using Nufinish.People have always commented on the "show room-like finish" I've always maintained on my cars. Now if I could quit smoking in my cars I could say the same about my interiors:(

I've been using Maguiars Gold Glass as well. The shine is awesome and I've seen it in most auto parts stores here in Canada.

I used the clay bar in the Spring and I've waxed it at least three times since. The more you wax, the easier it is to clean too.

once a week seems a little excessive, i usually waxed my RSX (black) once every two months. To my understanding everytime you wax/polish your car you take a bit of clearcoat off, maybe thats why it doesn't shine like the one in the picture - just my two cents on the subject. oh and i also used Maguiars brand.

as for my Charger i'll prolly wait until this weekend to give it its first wax

Probably should be only once every couple of weeks to a couple of months.. I live off a dirt road.. so in rainy weather, doesn't take long to get mud and s**t on her.. And I am sure wax is better then mud..
