Below is quoted from the Taurus SHO mailing lists that I still read (even though I haven't had a SHO in years). We've had local get-togethers every spring and fall for the past five years. Anyone interested is invited. Some neat cars always come out. We have a great time and I'd love for this to carry over to the local (and even out of town!) Charger ownership:

Well, we are doing it again this Fall! The date is Saturday October 29th at
Lapeer Dragway:

http://www.lapeerdragway.com

Saturdays are Test-N-Tune, and for $25 you can get a LOT of runs in. Please
note that a helmet is required for all cars running. Any helmet will do, and
they also rent helmets at the track for $5.

It will be our "usual" routine of a gathering at Big Buck (in Auburn Hills)
on Friday night, the track on Saturday, then dinner on Saturday
after the track. We will plan on dinner at the Wooden Eagle on Lapeer in
Lake Orion (where we had dinner at the May Lapeer outing).

If anyone needs hotel info, email me, but there are a lot of hotels near Big
Buck in Auburn Hills on Opdyke, like Motel 6, Holiday Inn Express, Marriott
Courtyard (walking distance to Big Buck).

We are also looking at having a Gingerman track event a day or two prior to
the Lapeer day. If we don't end up renting Gingerman for a full day, we will
look at a Gingerman Test-N-Tune outing sometime in the October 25-28th
timeframe. See the Gingerman site for details:
http://www.gingermanraceway.com/

I will also post this to the various SHO lists, but any car is welcome (hey
I now drive a Subaru station wagon!!).

Gingerman Track Day Info (http://www.taurusclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23108). Should be a fun long weekend to put our cars through the paces. For those interested in attending the road course event, please contact Jason (jason8225@yahoo.com) directly to arrange payment and such. Also, for those who are interested in the dragstrip event on the 29th, please let me know, as I always seem to enjoy the responsibility of setting up the dinner after racing, so I'll need a vague headcount.

Thanks!

Ok, I'm kinda interested. I took my 69 Camaro there a few years back and had a wonderful time! The people were great and the track was much fun!!! How many chargers are going????

Just me that I can confirm. Come on out! Its a great time and while the road course event is hosted by the TCCA, there will be many good "car guys" there to share ideas, info and opinions with. Besides a host of Taurii and SHOs, I know of an Evo, a Legacy GT, an SVT Lightning and a 540i that all plan on being there.
Dragstrip is always a good time too and I'm one of the organizers for that event, so I can promise at least my Charger there as well!

I'm interested... I live about 15 minutes south ;) how exactly can I get you the payment? I'll have my debadged silver and hopefully my borla exhaust and possibly my 20" tires all together and ready to rock.
