Guys if you get a chance to save enough pennies. I recommend to do this experience! It was AWESOME! My wife got me the "Rookie" experience package for my birthday (8 laps) at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. OMG! These were 600 hp Nascars. My R/T has great HP but these cars were unreal. They also had "hot laps" for family to get and experience also in a Nascar. 3 laps at 180-190 mph. My wife went ahead and did the 'Hot laps" and she was sooo stoked it was funny yet I was proud and happy to see she would do that. Cause you know she "was" the typical wife while I'm driving the Charger and always saying stuff like: "Is your father Mario Andrade or something" or "gotta go put out a fire" in other words my driving was to fast.

Now, after she rode in those cars, she like's when I get on it a little now.

But guys, ya gotta try this experience. If you are not a racer already and never been in a high HP car, then this is your ticket. You drive the car "by yourself". AWESOME!

I did that same one. It was for a sales award from my company. Cool stuff. It is an amazing feeling. When you take a few laps with them it is a very cool feeling of power--I wondered to myself how the car doesn't fly off track from the G-force.

I'd recommend it highly too.

I did the Richard Petty Rookie experience at PPIR, a Team Texas drive, and the Speed Tech one at Atlanta. Yes, I'm addicted! I'd love to do one of those 3 day deals. My favorite was Atlanta, with the steep banking, but they were all worth it.

Depends on exactly what and where, but I think the Rookie experience is around $250

Hey Z,

Were you there around ending of March this year at las Vegas? Cause there was a guy in my class that was there because he had also won through a sales or service award from his work.

I went to this as well, courtesy of Microsoft, and it was enjoyable.

But, if I was spending my money, I would have been disappointed.

I mean, for $600 I got to drive the car for about 5 minutes. Went around in a circle 8 times and that was it.

For $300 I get to drive for 7 hours, 6 different cars on various tracks and drag strip at the SRTTrackExperience. I would much rather do this than the Richard Petty experience any day.

I guess since I'm not much of a fan of just going around in a circle, I was somewhat biased, but that is a lot of money for just 5 minutes of fun.

Wow! That SRT thinggy sound like fun. How often and where do they hold that SRT driving exprerience? I would love to do that. Do you get to drive the Viper too? That would be a blast I bet!

My wife, daughter and best friend got to experience it at Daytona. Three laps flat out. My friend is 6'8" and they had a little trouble wedging him in the car. The G forces were so strong his rib cage was bruised from the seat restriants. But if you asked him to do it again today he would be first in line. My daughter now wants to be a drag bike driver. She has a Katana and rides with her husband who rides a Hayabusa and she keeps up with him pretty well.

The Petty Exp. is well worth it. There's nothing like flying around LVMS on the ragged edge of traction.

I've driven my father-in-law's street stock (about 450 hp - 1/4 & 3/8 mile track) which is amazing by itself... but to be on the throttle of 600-650 hp around a mile and a half... nothing compares.

The bad part is that you wish you could afford a hundred more laps

;)

I know what you mean. Because after I got the feel and the trust in the car the ROOKIE experience was over and I was ready for more! I'll definately do it again next year!
