OK Chrysler, when are you going to lower the price of cars and trucks in Canada?
The Candian dollar has gained over 30 cents to the US dollar and now sits very close to being only 10 cents different that the US dollar.
Prices on Chrysler Canada cars and trucks have not dropped to reflect this change.
When will you Chrysler, or do you just want to keep ripping us off in comparrion to our US counterparts!
We pay far more for the same car and truck that Americans do.
How is this fair considering a lot of the cars and vans are built right in Canada but cost far more than it sells for in the US.

I know I'm dreaming, but hey, were getting ripped off here!!!!!

From what I read on this forum, most people paid around $34,000 - $35,000 US for their Charger R/T Daytonas. If you use a 15% exchange that comes out to about $40,000 CDN which is right around whatI paid for my Daytona up here in Toronto.....

Do you have some examples of how we're being ripped off?

You must have a BASE Daytona if you got it for $40,000 cause they start at $42,000 cdn
US Base is $33,000 Canada is $42,000 That is a heck of a lot more than 10% difference, its actually 30% more!!!!
These are the same prices they wer charging when exchange was 40 cents on the dollar, so yes, were getting ripped!!!!
Price in Canada should drop to at most $37,000 CDN. They overcharge by $5000 just because we live in Canada!

Oh, I would get it there (the US) if it were legal, but its not legal for US citizens to buy in Canada and vice versa! (car and trucks that is)
Funny thing is, they gouge more on the Daytona than on the Srt8, you would think they would charge the same, model independent.

You can buy cars from the USA, a guy in our city does it all the time, its how I got my ws6.. he brought it up here from a bank re-prosession or something and sold it at auction.

The only thing that sucks is the dash and **** is in miles first km's second.. that just about got me in trouble a few times.

If you factor in the exchange rate then historically when it was up almost 60% they should have actually been charging a lot more for cars in Canada than the US. But the problem is that a $40,000 CAD car is as expensive to a Canadian as a $40,000 US car is to an American so it's just not feasible to factor in exchange. The prices are based on the local market. And by local I mean the country.

As a matter of fact, I have a fully loaded Daytona, minus the GPS system. It has sunroof, 6 disc CD, rear seat DVD....

It's just a matter of how you deal with the sales people. I had 3 different dealers going against each other. They all had the Daytona's on the lot for a couple of months and wanted to move them out, so I ended up saving over $6K (sticker price was $46,040)

If you find the US is cheaper, it might be worth it for you to go down there and buy one, even if you have to pay duty on it coming back over the border.

There's no way they gave you 6k off of that car... You must have gotten employee discount.... Where did you get it from? You're in the Windsor area aren't you? Mine was 48,500 or something, fully loaded, the only thing it doesn't have is the factory UConnect, which I am putting in this weekend. When I was out of there I ended up paying 44 plus tax and financing...

Depending on the rebates at the time $6000 off is very feasible. Plus, the more options a car has, the more mark up there is. Each option is marked up a certain percentage. For instance, I got my R/T for $37,500, sticker was something like $41,500. I don't have many options. Take a loaded Daytona and you have a lot more room to play. A dealership is not going to lose money, no matter how bad they want something off the lot. There is only a $1000 rebate on the Chargers right now but up till the middle of May it was $1500 and could have been more before then.

What do you mean there is no way?? I'm out in Pickering and like I said before, I had 3 different dealers going against each other. Each one had at least 1 Daytona on the lot that they hadn't been able to move. It's not an employee discount.. I simply kept going from dealer to dealer with my lowest price and they kept beating each other

I just find the the key is to be patient. If you walk into the dealer and start drooling over the car (I know it's hard not too) then they might not move as much, but it took me the better part of 2 weeks before I finally made my deal. The only option it doesn't have is the GPS. It has the UConnect, rear seat DVD, sunroof, etc.

I know that some people paid as much as 50K for a Daytona, but they were willing to do so because they liked the car so much and didn't want to wait.

I leased mine for 48 months at $545 a month with a 15K buyout at the end. That totals about $41K which includes the 2.8% lease rate.

On another note, anyone seen how much the Tor-Red's are selling for?

hmmm, new srt-8 at St.Thomas Chrysler, option groups 1,2,3, msrp (sticker) $52,9xxx.xx. I'm just wondering aloud what will the price be on a Shelby Cobra? Not a ford guy but I cant believe the cobra will be more than $ 53,000. Still shopping for a modern muscle car, I have 10 months left on my Hemi Sport Quad cab 4*4 lease.
