Does anyone know of Hemi-specific events in the Houston area? I know of the Mopar show at HRP in the fall, but nothing else.

If there are no Hemi-specific events, I'm thinking of trying to organize one, specific to Hemi-powered vehicles. It should be a great event...

What do you all think???

Anyone here other than a few I know of , headeding to the big meet and greet the weekend of the 18? Me and a few guys are going Sunday and want to convoy up there.
If you would like to go drop me a line so we can all work out a time and place to meet before we go up there.

I know this is going to sound sacreligous but, I don't care to drag race. I prefer road courses. Drag racing is over too fast.
I only go to HRP is to watch.

I thought I could not mod either because of the warranty. Fact is you can perform mods as long as you do not “break” into the engine with heads, cam, etc. You can do many exterior mods that do not void the warranty. For example, I installed a CAI system, carbon fiber and Billet technology engine stuff (see http://picasaweb.google.com/spacecitylx/ClassicsPizzaI/photo#5154799397993980082 ). The engine is stock but the bay is a blank canvas that is limited only by your taste, creative mind and ....... MONEY!!! Go for it dude. And if you need help, the SpaceCityLX club is awesome. DC is correct. There are many of us who have modded our LX's without voiding the warranty. I have not done motor work to mine, but everything else. Like DC also stated, we always are willing to lend a hand with your modding and like to teach as we go. That is how Space City rolls.

to echo DC and Freebird, we love helping/showing members how to mod. the great thing about this forum, and a local club like SCLX, is you can talk and see what people have done BEFORE you spend your money to do it. there are mods you'll love, and then mods you'll hate. where else can you find a group of people with different exhausts, engine bays, interiors, etc...all in one place.

spacecitylx is here for you, so take advantage of your LX bretheren. as i say to everyone....share what you know, learn what we know.

what kind of spoiler is it? depending on the tools you'll need, we might be able to arrange an mod/meet sooner than feb 2. if it's just 3M tape, then at Feb 2 is going to work fine. but if we need to drill, etc...then we'd prefer doing it at one of our homes, so we have access to all the right tools.

It is an SRT hood. We ordered it that way from the dealer and had them put it on. Got it at Baytown CJD on I-10.
Any time we need body work we use Paige's on Sunny Side in Mont Belvieu.

Look for a cool vanilla Magnum RT with gray foose nitrous wheels, running around in Beaumont. His name is Mark and goes by MAGS on the LX Forums. I don't know if he has swapped the magnum front end for a 300 front end yet, but be on the look out for him in B-mont.

it depends on what rear shocks you have.

if you have the Nivomats in the rear from the factory, they will not drop with the spring... they are a load leveling shock and will not change height just from a spring swap.

the fronts will drop with just a spring swap regardless.

however, assuming you can get away with only doing springs i would advise against it.

the way houston roads are, you will sooner or later blow out your shocks and then the ride will become extremely harsh and have ZERO dampening.

spend the coin and get a new set of shocks(struts) and springs and have them installed. if you get the same brand of shocks/springs, they will be matched well together and last a lot longer and have a much better quality of ride.

Frank Racing has done some suspension work on local cars, however they specialize in performance and are swamped with builds so im not sure how easily they could work you in. Im sure there are many other places around that can do the work, but ive only used them for all of my needs lately. Give them a call and see what they can do for you. I know they are Retailers for Eibach and KW and Pedders and they may be able to hook you up on parts and install!
