I have one, Bright Silver Metallic, bought on 7/3. It is the best value of any domestic automobile. Any questions???.

I bought a Midnight Blue Charger SE about 2 weeks ago.
I "battled" with myself, for about 1 month, over whether or not to get the R/T Hemi model. I decided to save the $7K extra that it would have cost to get the R/T - I didn't even test drive the R/T because I knew that it would definitely make me buy that model. Part of my reason for going with the Base SE was because I have house payments to make, on a single income. The other reason was GTT - The Gas, Tires, and Tickets expenses of owning the R/T >
So, I have to agree with Moparitis - The SE is a great buy, with a lot of great features. I am happy with it - The car is quite powerful with the V6, for its size.

They are very hard to find. Go to Dodge's web site and click on "search inventory" at the bottom left corner and you can check just about any dealership in the nation. It's a real time saver, and supposedly very accurate.

I have to say, as a Charger SE owner for about 2 weeks, I have no regrets. Sure, I've had a little of the "I should have gotten the Hemi" syndrome.
- but, after driving a Dealer Magnum R/T Hemi loaner, for one day - I realize that, Sure it would be cool to have that power. But, I don't really see anywhere that I can use all of the power - except for the "off the beaten path" country roads, where there aren't any cops (just "Town Watches" ).
- I would have to say that the "Big" thing for me, was the looks - and the handling. The Midnight Blue paint job looks superb.

Just a question, do the Chargers with the 3.5 have the speed limiter too?

I was wondering the same thing, I was messing with a friend of mine that has an accord,v6. we were going a little over 100, I slowed down cause I didnt know if the governer would kick in or not. does any one know what the governer is set at.

Did someone say "accord" on the Charger Forums site  ?
Anyhow, I have only had my Charger (V6) SE, up to 80 mph - So, I'm not sure if the limiter would kick in at 125mph.
- But as someone noted in other threads, I believe the limiter is based on what the Tires are rated for (max speed). So, I would suspect the the R/T's and the SE's/SXT's are all limited at the same speed (possibly 125mph).
- Speaking of Tires - I ended up with GoodYear Tires on my car and not the Continentals. I wonder if anyone else got the GoodYear tires ?

If you had an R/T, youd be saying "It's so hard to keep my Charger (V8) below 80 mph - Every time I go down a hill the limiter would kick in at 125mph"

I hit 120 and and didnt cut off. I let off then. it only had 100 miles on the car so I didnt want it to kick in yet.

hrm...I just hope it doesn't or that some aftermarket tuner allows us to take it off...Hell, an Intrepid could run to 142mph! and 300Ms have hit close to 150mph if I remember correctly...

A charger for everyone! Gotta love that. I personally have an R/T, but have driven the V6 and in all reality, the lighter V6 does handle better. I can imagine the Daytona or the performance package will handle better than the stock R/T, but at the cost of some comfort.
All the best and congrats to everyone on their purchase!

The fog lights are held in by 2 clips one on bottom one on top. if you got the kit you will get a new switch that will replace old. it wasnt hard at all. I just got my windows tinted as well 30% all over. still looking for some rims and spoiler.

Hey Andy,
I have the fog lights ready to put on my car, when it comes in a couple of weeks--I ordered them a while back from LeeParts and the install instructions seem easy enough... However, did your car recognize the fogs, once they were installed, or did you have to use the (quoted from the instructions) "diagnostic STARSCAN tool so that the Front Control Module is reconfigured and recognizes the front fog lamps"? Thanks!

Hi,
I got an SE last week. It was the last one on the showroom floor. My SE came with the crom grill inserts, carbon fiber dash kit, and the mirrored window covers (where Opera Lights used to be on older "Classy" cars). I just checked on Dodges site, and didnt see any of the options. And it had "Limited Edition" sitckers on it, though the Pin stripe. Not sure WHAT they did... but for the money I spent on it, I love it! I will post pictures when I get home, I am curious if anyone else has seen a SE with these options?

Welcome to the V6 forum!
Sounds like your dealer made some custom upgrades. Mine did as well when I purchased my SXT last June. They had added some nice (but not overly obtrusive) pinstriping, and upgrade the wheels from the standard 17", to 18" custom chrome.
Some of the dealers I know around here (Chicago) will do a few custom upgrades on the vehicles they display on the showroom floor.
Welcome, again, to the forum!

Thanks! I wish they woulda did the wheel and chrome, but hey... that just means I get to put the ones I want on, and not have an extra set of rims laying around my garage.  This will make my wife happy.
Well, here are some pics of my new Charger, showing some of the things that seem to be custom addons by my dealer.

I really like the grill and carbon fiber dash inserts. I don't really care for the pinstripes (especially the "Limited Edition") or the rear stabilizer/fin (since it isn't OEM...or at least it doesn't appear to be. It doesn't reach completely across the width of the car like the OEM part does.)
Just my opinion/taste. As long as you like it and are happy with it, that's what matters. Overall, I love the car...afterall, it is a Charger.
I tend to agree with you on that. I'm not sure why or what made them put Limited Edition on it.. Though I am unsure what to do with the empty space if I pulled the letters off. The rear fin is actuallt OEM... or so the invoice says, and when I looked at some of the other Chargers its the same part. Could just be my bad pictures... the haze when I took them was horrid. For all the little nit picking I do on my car, I'm just like everyone else... as long as its a Charger, I'm a happy camper.

Color me stupid but I'm not really up on my car lingo. What exactly does a limiter do? does it shut of the engine when you hit a certain speed or just keeps the car from going faster?
A kind of related question, what does a CAI do? :embarrese

No stupid questions here......There is alot that I've have learned on these forums over the past couple months.
The speed limiter is supposed to prevent the car from going faster. On the HEMI versions, I believe it is set at around 125-126MPH. And you know that guys air looking for way to get around it.
One way is to increase horsepower and engine torque. One of several mods that are out there is a CAI (Cold Air Intake). This add-on allows for greater air intake into the engine thereby increasing output efficiency.
At the moment, there is not a CAI yet the is compatible with the V6 Chargers, but will be before the end of the year.

Got my SE in August....
Vanilla with grey/black interior.....
Current Mods already done-
** Window tint, 20% back, 35% back seat & front, windshield strip 20%
** 18" Pirelli Tires 235/60 - wider tires, but keeping ride with 60's
** Chrome dash kit (WoodDashExperts) - sweet look, good move
** Fog lights
** T-Rex Billet upper and lower grills - no cross sections, just straight across
** 18" Zinik Kahn chrome wheels - saw them advertised on a 700 series BMW, so they were for me
** Dual Exhaust system - louder & more fuel efficient, not to mention a few more horsepower
** Neon orange lights on the windshield washer fluid devices
** And of course, the University of Tennessee floor mats.....had to throw that in there...
Pictures to come when I figure out how....

Tough to guage anything by my system, as I have a brother-in-law in the muffler/exhaust retail business.....
I was more into filling the open hole in the rear end of the car.....
I believe it was MagnaFlow, but we are 400 miles apart and he assured me he would hook me up with a good deal over Labor Day Weekend.....
Few hours in his Nashville shop Saturday & $700.00 poorer.....
Now I come in here and I feel pretty good about the deal I got....
Believe me, you can get a V6 to sound pretty sweet....
Do they make any Ground Effects or Body Kits yet ???
