Suggestions for where to tap into power and where to ground the wiring for headrest monitors.. Any power at radio??.. cig lighter??.. I assume wherever I do it, I should put an inline fuse..?

Thoughts? Any install pics??

Thanks in advance,

Johnny K

Power outlet on the back of the console?

Best place for power and grounds are circuits like that that dont kill other important things if something goes wrong. Too many goofy people tying into lighting circuits and then driving home with no headlights cause they're stereo is broke.

I ran a +12v wire from the fuse box in the trunk under the trunk liner/rear seat/hump carpet. I used teflon wire so it would slip nice and easy under everything. I grounded to a bolt that the center console is held to the body with. This will lead out under the rear hvac vent.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I wired mine tonight (well most of it..). Since the power and RCA's are in the same long cable with a unique connector at the seats, I ran the cable all the way up to the radio (Rather than buying new RCA's and running them back).

Now I have the power and ground up to the radio..

I see my MYGIG harness has an "accessory" and "ground" wires that are not used and it's rated for 2.5 AMPs.. They also have a constant on, which I don't want..

Think it's cool to to use those?.. My manual only states 12V and "about" 5 watts for each monitor.. No clue how many amps that would draw..

Thoughts?

Thanks!!!

You can use those or you can use the power wires going to the radio itself. I think they are yellow but are constant on also. You could use the cig lighter there which is acc on.

Thanks, I'm running with the radio harness ones that the Lockpick has available..

Found on the web and Volts x Amps = Watts, at 12V, and 5 watts each (x2), it should draw a little less than an amp and that accessoriy wire is rates for a constant 2.5 amps.. so I'm cool.. (as soo as I find connectors that a "Y" with male RCA's on all ends..)

Thanks!
