I have a 2008 RT/RT performance package (daytona 20's) I've heard mixed opinions on if they are 8" or 8.5"
Either way I think the 275/40's are oversized as far as recommended rim width but I've heard of people on here saying they've got as big as 295's on the rear on the same rims...
I am looking at and torn between the Yokohama Parada X-spec 255/45 20's to remain within spec or going slightly over or pushing the limits and going with the Hankook Ventus ST RH06 275/40 20's....
The hankooks have less review info but they look better and have a higher speed rating, while the yoko's have a lower speed rating, not as attractive a tread design but glowing reviews and even great (#1 in class) comparitive reviews from another unmentionable site....
What kind of ill-effects can I get from running the "out of spec" tires... wearing the middles, or is it risk of going around a corner fast and popping of the rim.... I'd really like to put this to bed... On that note... I'm heading there myself...
If you got any insider info on which is better as well, that's always appreciated... There really was no direct comparison of these found anywhere.... I'm looking for a tire that doesn't blow goats like the OEM Goodyear RSA's. I drive easy with the family most of the time so I want a quiet comforatble long lasting ride but when I let loose and have fun, I like the tires to take anything I can give em, so performance is very important to me as well... The good years were ok when new but they wear fast and horribly, I am barely at the wear indicators at less than 17k and have been hydroplaning badly and generally have no confidence in my grip anymore. They have always made vibrations and noise that I assumed was the drivetrain but from other reviews I suspect is them... We'll see soon enough.
BTW, these seem to be asymetrical tires, both my choices, so do these only get rotated only same side front to back instead of the standard cross the rears to opposite fronts and move the fronts straight back....
Thanks in advance, sorry for the long post.
