Kicker Speaker Upgrades

Ted, Jeff, I realize the group buy is ove for these. I am still interested. Is there any more info on these speakers as far as installation goes? Does anyone on here who installed them have any feedback. I have the Sound Group II. I have seen where many have sadi the tweater in the kicker upgrade wouldnt be used at all because of the crossover setup. Is that the case? If you dont know do you know who I can ask. I am definately gonna get the Sub but I figured I could upgrade the speakers while I am at it.

We installed a set, but I wasn't invovled in the process so I cannot comment on that. As for the difference in sound, all I can say is "Amazing!!!" The before and after is a totally differnt sound enviroment. Deeper bass, and much cleaner highs. With that being the case, I would say the tweeters definetely come into play. They may not reach their full potential, due to the crossover setup, but there are still frequencies that they take advantage of. Oh, we did not install a sub in this particular vehicle either.

Ted, was this in a vehicle that just had the stock 4 system speakers or in a car that had the Sound Group II 6 speaker set up? I would imagine it is a big improvment for the four speaker set up but what I am wondering about is the Boston Acoustic 6 speaker system. Please let me know what you installed it on. Thanks!

We installed them in a Chrysler 300 with the upgraded BA system. The customer did not want to go with the sub, and was very pleased with the sound the new speakers exhibited.

I stand correct!
I pulled the repair order on this, and it turns out it was not the upgraded sound system. This vehicle had the base system in it, but we hear there may be a kit coming out soon for the 6 & 7 speaker cars. These will work on those vehicles, but you were right, they end up being mainly mid-bass speakers.

Kinda figured since the upgrade kit didnt adress the in dash speakers at all and I think those are the most in need of an upgrade. Keep us posted on the Premium sound upgrade
