i recently blew the middle trunk speaker which i had a system wired to and i need to get it replaced and i dont know the size. also, the stock ones are boston acoustic. would it sound better if i got another boston acoustic or if i got a different better brand speaker.
I have 2 12in subs in the trunk. As for the speakers in the rear deck on both sides are 6x9, if you have the upgrade I think the middle is 8in sub, mine was blank.
My first comment may have sounded a little smart ass but I do have a reason. All of the stock boston system uses 2ohm speakers. If you put an aftermarket 2ohm in there it will probably sound like crap with the factory amp. If its just your stock sub thats blown I would (and did) get a line output converter and run an aftermarket amp and sub.
It's easy to wire because everything is in the trunk so no need to run wires all the way up front. I was running one twelve that I already owned on a pretty cheap kenwood amp. For using all factory boston speakers 2 3.5 in dash and 4 6x9's it actually sounded pretty good.
From your statment above (blew the middle trunk speaker which i had a system wired to). I'm guessing you may already be running a aftermarket sub and amp. I would just take the stock sub out or unplug it and call it good. It's not helping only hurting your sound if you run a factory sub and have aftermarket subs in there too.
