Is the Nav unit 6 cd Player supposed to show the artist and song info when playing a CD. Sirus shows the songs and titles. But when I play a CD no info comes up. When I press the INfo Button it just says NO INFO. Does anyone get the song and artist names displayed when playing a CD. The manual only mentions MP3s as displaying the info.

Only MP3 CDs (data CDs) will display the info. Regular (store-bought) CDs don't have the info required for the display.

Not entirely true. I have two store bought CD's that do display limited information (IE song title only). But as a majority this is correct. Out of probably 200 store bought CD's, I have two that work.

when you burn a cd make it a "DATA" disc not an "audio" disc...if you do DATA it will make it mp3's and the artist and title will come up
just like mnunes said.....

Thanks to all for the replys.
SilverRT did the discs you bought that displayed info have any info on the case that might indicate that they would?

i recall in the roxio 5 platinum days you could select an option that burned the track data along with the actual audio. it was like "cd-text" or something like that on AUDIO cd's , not mp3s

Ok I have been reading all of these replys and I thought I had my mine figured out. i got a Charger R/T with nav blah blah blah...it will not read my data cds. It says "no audio files". This is getting very frustrating because I decided to start using CDRws instead of CDRs because I figured CDRWs would hold more mp3s. Can someone help?

CDRw won't hold any more then a CDR. I'd say there's something wrong with a setting during burning. Are you finalizing the disk? Have you tried the disk in another player that you know plays MP3's?

Some CDs have the info on them that provides the buety of bing able to see the info on your head unit. but not all cd's is like that. Expecially cd's that you have burned or are data CDs. but MP3 cd's will show the info.
