View Full Version : Plugs For the Shaker

One of the things that's bugged me for a long time with the shaker is poor weather, especially winter weather. Anyone who's had to deal with a real winter will know snow and ice can find their way into just about anything. I know it'll melt as the engine warms up, but where does it drain?

Then I got thinking...Nose plugs. Little removable covers to fit over the two intakes. Maybe little rare earth magnets hidden inside the grill, with mated ones on the covers to hold them in place...Or maybe I'm just being dumb.

I'd love a shaker, but the ice issue bothers me. Where does it go when it melts? I know down a drain, but where?

The base of the shaker has drain holes that are hooked to a rubber tube drain line that drains to the groud under the car near the front of the car (or where ever you find room to put the line).

Since I have a truck for the winter, I have had no problems with ice/snow, but I have driven with it in torrential down pours w/o problems as the water was able to drain away freely.

It really doesn't matter now much it rains or snows, it won't effect the system - Just ask those that have one. We get seriously heavy downpours here in Miami and it's been tested thoroughly. Any ice formation would all melt as soon as you fire it up.
