now keep in mind, i made this MAJOR mistake before even knowing really what wax did but then i saw Junkman's videos and slapped myself. I used some spray on wax stuff for a quick shine... it kinda worked and was nice but I had let the car sit overnight after washing it then sprayed it on. After that i continued to wash with the soap that's considered "wash and wax" which im sure didnt help
This is what my car looked like CLEAN! (just regular wash and dry routine)

Not sure how this happened (i didnt wax my windows, im not that stupid... i dont think i did anyways:slap:) but my windows have waterspots on them too.

Is it okay to clay bar the windows or is that a no go? I've even tried bug and tar remover of all sorts on them with no better result

Wash it with Dawn, then claybar it. vinegar will work on the windows. You can clay them, but vinegar is easier. Dry it, make sure the water spots are gone, then wax it with real wax. Hard water is a bear....... especially on black cars, but you can overcome! :D

Dude, that's nasty! You waxed over the water spots and most likely sealed them in. That may take more than just claying but it can be removed. It may call for a PC and some Swirl & Haze Remover. Let see what happens with what you have first. What part of the country are you located?

for the windows get a product called glass scrub. It will take some elbow grease but it worked for my spots on my windshield where the wipers do not go.

I'm on the eastern shore of maryland (salisbury/ delmar), basically lower delaware area
i was afraid it would take more, i am saving up for the whole PC kit but sadly not having any luck with the job hunting here
as for the waterspots, you can kinda feel them on the surface (they used to be smooth with the contour of the car a week or so ago) so i dunno if that's because of just washing it with the soap without "wax" in it.

If you can get to the New Jersey Area Saturday, I'll be there putting on a detail clinic. I would love to show you how to get rid of those monsters. Let me know if you can make it. This way, you don't have to take a chance at buying something without knowing that it will work. Here are the details...

Well if you do, I'll make sure we tackle it. You will have a plan of attack when you leave the clinic. :bigthumb:

well, i went out there today and hit it hard. sadly it ended in waterspots 1, invictus 0
here's the end result, i only clayed the hood just to see if it would do anything for the spots
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/SutcivnI/hoodspots1.jpg
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/SutcivnI/hoodspots2.jpg
it most definitely took away the white rings around the edges of the spots but they're still there.
Here's the other side of the hood that didnt have waterspots to begin with
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/SutcivnI/hoodright.jpg
the clay uncovered some nice deep chips in the hood as well
