View Full Version : Mopar Performance Long Tube Header Group Buy

JEFF@ALLUSA

We are still working on the group buy with Mopar Performance on the LX headers. In the meantime we are lowering our price to an all time low of $1030.00 plus shipping. We have changed the price on our web site for ease of ordering. Now here is the deal, we are working with Mopar to get these at a reduced price. We have not received a confirmation that they will put together a promotional order for us yet. We will be taking orders for these for 1 week, that means on April 7th, we will begin ordering these from Mopar. If Mopar does offer up a promo, then we will extend the savings directly to the people who wish to purchase these on that promo. Again, we do not charge our customers until the product actually ships from our store to you. Heres your chance to buy the LX long tube Headers PT#P5153456 at an incredible price, and if Mopar offers a promo, you will get en even better deal. All we ask for is 1 week for them to decide if they will sweeten the pot any. This is on for any quantity, no buy in levels at this time. That may change depending on what Mopar Performance may come up with, but at least you know this is rock bottom at $1030.00.

I just pulled it right up at $1030.00, and no discount codes needed.

I don't know if it's because I am on my company computer but I can't seem to upload the saved screenshot. I'll try to attach it to an e-mail. thanks.

Got the email with the attachment, and I see the problem.
Apparently our featured product list is recalculating the sale price, and I have corrected this. The next time the site updates, it will roll over to the new price. If you had gone to the navigation menu, and looked up Charger under Mopar Performance, then under the sub category of Headers, it would have pulled the correct price. We did not know that our feature listings actually recalculated, so that was a good find. Thank you for supplying us the screen shot so we can eliminate those errors in the future.

Thanks Ted. I did use the navigation menu but not Mopar Performance. If you navigate to Charger under Dodge and then Catback Exhaust it is also showing the incorrect price.

Edit: I also just noticed that under Mopar Performance and Catback Exhaust it is also wrong.

I did correct the listing under Dodge - Charger, I am not finding the one under cat-back though.

Getting closer, working out a couple details, your going to like this!!!!!!

Mopar Long Tubes do not automatically void your warranty, however these are considered aftermarket items. Aftermarket items are not covered under your warranty, and therefore any damage caused by them would not be covered as well. Now some DSM's may be a little over zelous, and classify your vehicle as having a restricted warranty due to the installation of aftermarket components.

Looks like we may be able to get these down to just under $1000.00, still waiting on the final word though. Of course, it would HAVE TO BE a quantity order. I will post the details as soon as we receive them.

Well, The person at Mopar that will be making the final decision on this is now out of the office through Tuesday. We are currently estimating based on what we have been working up to get these headers to the $999.00 mark. THIS IS JUST AN ESTIMATE!!!! We are still trying to do a little more in maybe getting to that mark shipped. Please be patient, we will get this worked out very soon.

Official Group Buy Thread

This is the official group buy thread on the Mopar Performance Long Tube Header kit including Hi-Flow cat's.

HEMI long tube headers for the Chrysler 300C, Dodge Magnum R/T, and Charger R/T & Daytona's with the 5.7L HEMI. These are manufactured from heavy 14 gauge tubing with a 3/8" thick flange. True mandrel bends and a ceramic powder coated finish make these the most durable on the market. Each header is engineered to maintain minimum back pressure and maximum flow, courtesy of the included ODBII-campatible high flow catalyst. This has allowed Mopar Performance to create the ultimate long tube headers that work as if they were offered at the factory on your LX vehicle, increasing horsepower and torque, and without welding. A true bolt on performance product!
http://www.moparsupercenter.com/PartPictures/276996%20LXHDRS.jpg

We have lowered our online price at www.moparsupercenter.com (http://www.moparsupercenter.com/) to $1030.00, plus shipping. This is the price for orders 1 thru 14, and when we hit the 15th order, the price drops to $999.00 with FREE SHIPPING. Now, in order to get this level, we must hold all orders on these headers. This will give us the chance to build the list. However, some people do not want to wait, and will just take advantage of the online price. So we must set some rules so we can identify who is willing to wait from those who are not.

Group Buy ordering Procedures

Go to www.moparsupercenter.com (http://www.moparsupercenter.com/)
The Headers are listed on the front page under Featured Products.
Click on the Featured Listing of the Headers.
Click the "Add to Cart" button
When the Cart window opens, go to the "Discount Code" box.
Enter in MPGB (This will actually give your order a 1 cent discount)
This discount will be our identifier for those who are willing to wait.
Click the "Check Out" buton
Enter your name, address, email, and phone number (Phone # must use format of 123-456-7890)
Enter in your prefered billing method information, make sure to not use spaces
Enter shipping information if different (We will need to verify this info if used)
Click the "Submit Order" button
You will be taken immediately to an order confirmation screen showing your order details. If you entered data in the wrong format such as phone number and card number format, you will have a pop-up notification (make sure pop-ups are allowed for our site)
That's it, nothng else is required, we will enter the order confirmation numbers to the list below showing current level.
(We do not charge our customers until the product actually ships from our store to you.)

Heres your chance to buy the LX long tube Headers PT#P5153456 at an incredible price, and if we get enough people, you will get en even better deal.

Thank you,
Ted

so if people dont wait and agree to the 1030 does that mean they dont count towards the 15? If we agree to wait any follow the instructions but never hit the 15 mark can we back out? I will buy for sure for the 999 with shipping but the 1030 plus shipping is more than i can get them elsehwere for. I apreciate the effort on the group buy.

Currently, there is no additional discounts for less than 15, but if we do not hit the mark, we will do everything we can to get the price down some from the $1030.00 mark. If someone did want to back out, we would discourage that because of the others that it may effect, but we would honor the request. We are here to support our customers, and we will do whatever we can to accomodate their specific needs, within reason of course.

As for the people who do not wish to wait, those orders would not count, as they would be ordered immediately. This is a bulk purchase group buy, and in order for us to acheave this level, we must reach the 15 minimum. I am still trying to get that worked down some. The specific person I am talking to at Mopar is extremely busy, and is out of the office quite a bit. As this develops further, I will post those results.

Shipping charges on our site, may not be accurate. This is a fairly large box that weighs in at 65lbs. Accurate shipping quotes will be generated for those orders that would require shipping charges.

Well, I received some news from Mopar last night, and I am excited at what it said. Rather than having me try to reword it and make it sound more interesting, I am going to copy and past the important section regarding these headers.

We're going to run the numbers and see what kind of discount we can offer in quantities of 5 - per your earlier request to make the program more modular.
Mopar Performance Team

Once they have done this, I will update this group buy to reflect the discounts offered by Mopar. The fact that it will start at 5 is really good news.

Ted:
Is there an increased sound inside the cabin from the headers (the dreaded drone etc?).
What's the word on HP increase?
Any hassles with 02 sensors etc?

Ted@AllUSA
04-16-2006, 08:37 AM
Hemi Ready,
The long tube headers will make the exhaust tone slightly deeper. Most, if any drone though would be generated by the cat back exhaust system installed. As for how these will sound with systems other than the Mopar cat0back, I cannot answer due to lack of experience. These did deepen the tone very slightly on a 300c with the Mopar system, but no drone was noticed, especially at highway cruising speeds. They may react different with other systems though.
The estimated HP increase is between 8-12, but a very noticable mid range torque is present.
This package was designed to operate properly with the O2 system on the LX vehicles. Mopar has only seen 1 car exhibit the check engine light after installing these headers, and it turned out 1 of the 2 cat's were defective.

The message I received was directly from the man who is making the decision. He was actually on vacation when he sent it to me, and is due back in the office today. I am sure he has a pile of work to catch up on, so I wouldn't count on an answer from him today. I will be attempting to talk to him today, and I will try to get an answer, but I don't want to push my luck either. As for when we will pull the plug, that all depends on Mopars decision, but we are thinking this Friday, the 21st. If we do pull it then, we could begin shipping to our customers the middle of next week.

I will keep everyone posted on the outcome.

So if I understand you correctly, this "modular" system of 5 per on the group buy, if it's approved, will go on indefinitely for every 5 orders you get in a group buy format?

I would like to do this but don't know yet if this is the right time. If it's not for me I would love to still get this kind of price down the road when it is. :)

Ted@AllUSA

Well, I had a feeling this would happen, so just in case I did order 2 extra sets. However, someone called in an order shortly after closing the buy, so I may only have 1 set left. I will check next week and PM the 2 people above who have posted. If I have any available, I will let them have first option.

Got Hemi,
We have the SRT8 hood listed on our web site and we are selling them outright at the best group buy price we could get it at. The complete hood kit with the extra items needed at $1295.00. I will look into the exhaust kits to see what kind of deal we can do there again, and we also just finished a CAI group buy that went for a couple weeks.

Ok, a slew of the shipping notices went out showing the higher price. I will assure you that these were not invoiced at the higher price and shipping was included. The total price for these out the door was $999.00 for those who participated in the group purchase.

FedEx has picked up the shipment, and they are now on the way.

Just got home with my Mopar headers on. They sound great and you can really feel the differance in the low end right away. I don't have numbers but the "seat of the pants feeling" is much greater than the shorties I took off. This is a must have Mod! Thanks to the Supercenter guys(Ted&Jeff) for a great group buy.

Well our header deal was a very good deal for those who participated. I didn't want to leave anyone else without the chance to still participate. So I ordered several more pallets of Mopar Performance LX Long Tube headers before the promo ran out. The shipment has arrived, and we are continuing the group buy price until the stock has been depleted. Thats right, we are still selling these for $999.00 shipped to anywhere in the lower 48 states. So if you have been debating about getting the headers, you still have the opportunity to purchase the factory engineered headers at an incredible savings.

I've had shorties prior, believe me the Long Tubes provide better performance and the price is only a couple of hundred bucks more.

I guess that these will not fit the Charger SRT8? I sure would like in if they would fit. We wish they did also. We get a lot of request for 6.1L upgrades like this. Mopar is looking in to these type of things from what we have been told. Right now everything that is coming out is for the 5.7L engines.

Shoot me a PM with your address information and we will get you a quote on the shipping. We will also give you a credit towards the shipping equal to what we ship them to the lower 48 for. However, these will ship out via UPS and you will be responsible for any taxes, duty, and brokerage fees that UPS will add to the shipment.

I would like a set of these but I am a little concerned with the warranty issue. Is there anything that might cause any engine damage. I called Dodge on it and they kind of give you a answer that sounds like they are reading it off a card, everything you come up with gets the same repeating answer. Its like a grey area. CONFUSED HELP!

When I said I called Dodge I didn't call a dealer I called Chrysler corp.I asked them if Mopar was part of Chrysler they said yes so i asked if these parts are going to damage the engine why would you sell them. The guy just kept saying over and over again any damage caused by the instalation and because it is part of the engine would be a problem. But it is just a exhaust how could it hurt anything?

Chrysler treats all Mopar Performance parts as aftermarket parts. If you should need warranty work it is up to the dealership to determine if the aftermarket part caused the problem. If so then it will not be covered under warranty. Some dealers are "mod" friendly such as our dealership, however most are not. It is up to the customer to deceide what they want to do with their car, and it is a good idea to speak with your dealer or dealers in your area to find out how "mod" friendly they are.

Would it be better to not have the dealer install them because if they do it will be in the computer to DC that they are on your car.

Our system only transfers warranty repair details to DCX, the details of customer pay work are not transfered.

When I was getting a oil change the other day I was trying to feel them out about headers and waranty and I made the comment that unless they were to say that they were on there if I had a problem DCX would never know and they made the comment that the install would be in the computer that is why I thought maybe have someone else do it. I don't know if there are any mod friendly dealers in northeast Ohio all the ones I have called have never even installed any yet. It's like why would you want to do that are you racing the car. It makes things a little tough. Are they still $999 shipped

Ted@AllUSA
07-28-2006, 05:57 AM
We currently have 2 sets left in stock at the $999.00 price. When these are gone, so is the bargain price.
Remember, these are headers with Hi-Flo cat's directly from Mopar.

Hey I took my charger into the dealer to get them installed and they said they needed to order new gaskets? Does this make sense? So in the meanwhile I havent had a car since 7:00 AM yesterday and I wont get it back till 5 tonight?

Ted@AllUSA
07-28-2006, 09:41 AM
We have been able to reuse the gaskets with no problems. However, if they are not careful when they remove the factory exhaust manifolds, it may destroy the old gaskets.

Just ordered the last set this morning I hope I don,t have the same problem as T@T3R S@L@D with the gaskets. I walked into Strongsville Dodge,in the Clevaland area asked about instalation the first thing he say's is, that is going to totaly void the waranty on the engine. I go no it isn't. I wish we had someone up here like MPSC. I said you look at me like I'm nuts when this Mopar thing was big in the 70's I didn't have 2 nickels to rub together driving a beat up handmedown worth about a hundred bucks. I'm having fun with this car I want it to sound mean I want everything I missed out on. This car is not transportation its much much more than that. Then they loosened up a little and printed me out a qoute for instalation $650

Are you going to have another group buy for these headers in the future maybe? I would have liked to get in on this deal but did not own my charger at the time.
Also spoke to the dealer and they said any aftermarket item I use will have to be a MOPAR aftermarket item or it will void my warrenty, guess mopar will be getting my $$$$
