El Tino,
When I logged on this morning, I subscribed to the thread that Jeff had posted. I needed to check the Chrysler system before answering your question.

5.7L CAI, got a couple in stock, would ship out immediately
6.1L CAI, we have some enroute to us, expected shipping time of a couple days.

These are no longer on backorder, so if we did have to order one, it would be 4-5 days to us, then would ship out immediately.

Hahaha! That's awesome, it would be nice to see another car from the front as opposed to in my rearview mirror as usual!! I haven't seen any RT's with R&T around here yet but I'm sure that'll change now that it's spring. By the way best color by far and the tint makes it happen!

Thank you Jeff and Ted,

That was real fast as I received mine today, thanks again for the deal, your assistance, and great service.

I have a question for El Tino or anyone else who is from MA (North of Boston)
Do you know of a good place to get this installed, or any place in general that will know what they're doing and not charge a ridiculous rate? Please let me know, I'd certainly appreciate it!

Thanks,
-Joe

Ill be installing mine with the help of my cousin. I have never done this before, but after installing the grill I have no fear. If your set with attempting a self install I can get a few numbers. Ive been at work all day so I cant wait to get home and see if the CAI arrived. Now Im excited.

Thanks El Tino-

You'll probably have yours there when you get home, -Good luck with your install and let me know how it goes. I'm basically useless when it comes to anything dealing with automobiles so I think I might take it to someplace in Billerica but I haven't gotten a response from them on whether or not they can do it yet. I should find out today so I'll post what the cost is etc. if that's the case.

Received mine today! Along with my Daytona grill assembly...

But it looks like I screwed up and ordered the 6.1 CAI kit by mistake :o

On the upside, the 6.1 kit fits! But, some things...

There's a bracket the install directions ask you to remove; no such bracket on the 5.7 cars...don't worry about it.

The small hose that the kit comes with is too short. Use the one from the stock intake; that one's long enough (with some bending)...you'll definitily need those hoseclamps on it, though.

That little strip of rubber that looks like a hose isn't, it's a cushin...I didn't know what it was for until after I had it all assembled and locked down. Whoops. Took it back apart and stuck that in there...

Other than that, it went right in! I was surprised! No DTC's thrown or anything. I did it in about an hour....why so long? Cause my car wrench work ability spans being able to fill it with gas, and changing a tire. That's about it. Started up, checked all the hoses and fittings, and it looks good to go. I'll find out tomorrow while driving to work, of course, but otherwise...

Of course, I had some spare parts left over, as always  One looked like a hose extension fitting (where you'd combine two of those smaller hoses together and clamp them on?)..no idea what that's for; the directions don't even reference it. Also was left with a spare washer and flange nut.

For those on the fence about getting one...get on it :D It took very little time (even less if you have any idea what you're doing), and if nothing else, it looks sweet. Everyone says it sounds better...I'll find out tomorrow.

I cant find the part on the website. How do I get to it.

joescat
04-05-2006, 07:29 AM
Go to their website:
www.moparsupercenter.com (http://www.moparsupercenter.com)
Click Search.
Choose Make: Mopar Performance.
In Search, enter P4510832 -or- P4510947 for the SRT's 6.1 engine
Choose Part Number to the right of that.
Click the one line listed in the result below, order and enjoy the blissful sound of great quantities of air being hungrily sucked into that Hemi.

I can't wait! I've only heard one once, at the dealership. I didnt' know what to expect, had the hood open and had the salesman punch the accelerator - I nearly jumped, I was not expecting THAT! Then, I test drove it. It's wasn't the Perf. Group like mine, but with the CAI and exhaust, it was louder and meaner than mine even now with the Magnaflows. Can't wait to round out the sound with this CAI and see how it turns out.

Jdiddy do not waste your money allowing someone to install this part. I did this in thirty minutes. It was simple. Just take it slow carefully carrying out each instruction. Maybe I can help if you need.

El Tino thanks for the input and sounds like it was a piece of cake for your install!

I appreciate your insight and assistance, but to be honest I would rather have a custom shop do it than myself, as I don't trust myself putting it in and I don't have the time to get to it. The place I'm taking it to is called Wyld Chyd custom rides website is here: http://www.wyldchyldcustoms.com/
they said the cost would be roughly around $60-$100 which may be a lot :o but I want to make sure this is done right.

That's awesome that you already have that in, -how's it sound and do you think the performance has improved at all?

Havent noticed any performance gains. Looks good under the hood and makes the engine compartment sound good.

Hey Jeff or Ted, it looks like the order numbers are sequentially higher. Maybe just let us know here what order number you're up to for shipping once in a while? If it's not too much bother, I know you guys must be busy.

........I'm asking here, since I don't see any kind of order status page on your website.

This is something we want to roll out in our new custom site, but will take some time. We are getting ready to contract a new company to remake our whole site as a complete custom deal. We are going to be offering a ton of new enhancements to help benefit our customers.

Sorry, didn't mean to hi-jack my own thread, back on topic from now on please.

Got the order yesterday, installed and enjoying!
Great price, and arrived soon enough, considering the price, and the slew of orders I'm sure. I was waiting for a GB on CAI's!

One minor quibble, as the letter packed with it asked for feedback: it inadvertently shipped to my home address, instead of work. Good thing FedEx just dropped it off, and I didn't have to chase a truck around Michigan. Bad thing is, my wife is home, so that garnered some unwanted attention IYKWIM. Everything was correct on the order, even the email I received with shipping status and tracking number had my work address. Only the printed packing slip was errant. I suspect that probably happened at the shipping dealership.

Still, to be clear, I'm a happy customer!

joescat,

Thank you for the feedback, it has pointed out one area that we need to improve on. We will take your recent experience into consideration as we try to implement a way to prevent this from happening to you or others in the future. Sorry for the unwanted attention!

I hate those sudden dances around the spouse, I can't think that quick!!! So I know where your coming from!
