The plastic hardware that came with the stock front spoiler.........are those strong enough to hold this spoiler on?? You drill 10 holes I believe and push this pins in and that's it. Just wondering if it would be better to use something else or if these OEM ones are strong enough. Don't want the spoiler lip coming off at 80mph.

I used stainless screws for the far left and right ends of the spoiler and then used stainless bolts and thread locking nuts for the rest of the holes. I also thought that the plastic rivets were to flimsy to really secure the spoiler into place.

Couldn't the steel bolts possibly rip the lower part of the bumper off if the chin spoiler hits something hard?

You might want to rethink using screws and nuts: if you hit something with the spoiler, the plastic rivets will probably give before the front fascia tears. If you attach the spoiler more firmly, the fascia may rip. It's a lot cheaper to replace a lip spoiler than the whole front fascia.

Jmorrell, you make a good point....wait till you get the spoiler and see for yourself...those plastic rivets suck. I tried to use them and they just came out with a slight tug on the spoiler. Maybe I drilled the holes to big for the rivets to go into but I don't think so.

When I put a Mach1 chin spoiler on my 99GT I used small bolts and nylon nuts. I ran up on a few parking blocks with no problem. The spoiler gave and didn't break anything. I think the Charger c/s is high enough that if you did hit something, breaking it would be the least of your problems.

99% of the car's exterior (and some internal) panels are connected using the plastic pins. My mud flaps are held on by only two of them, and I have had no problem.
