Brian, I have a question. Looking to clean the fuel system and give my baby some extra pep. Can you break down in your opinion what is better ACES IV or a fuel system cleaning done at the auto shops? I have a 06 Charger SE with 21K on the clock.

Yes she is. I started really driving her this year.
slim i not gonna knock dudes aces because i havent use it yet but i hear good things though about it. not sure if its a cleaner though...
but i will suggest seafoam. it basically cleans out all of the carbon build up in your intake and injectors and so forth. it also creates a pretty cool smoke show as is cleans out all the grime. basically, you suck it up in one of your vacuum lines that feed over all teh cylinders and injectors, then let it sit for a few minutes and then start it up and watch all the carbon build up exit from out of your exhuast. then rev it up to about 3500rpms and repeat the revs until the smoke clears. will take about 10-15minutes and trust me when i say to only do this in an open area or else someone may think your house is on fire if you do it in your driveway. really thick dingy smoke will come out if you have a lot of carbon build up accumilated and even if your system is pretty much clean it will still smoke but not for long and the smoke will be mostly bright white and not so thick which is basically just he seafoam burining off. i can do this for you for free the next time you come on over to my shop again and hang out since i know you enjoy working and learning how to work on your own whip yourself. i usually add 1/3 of the can in intake runners or throught the brake booster line, and another 1/3 of can in the crankcase oil right before i change the oil as it acts like an ISO cleaner. after you add to the crankcase oil, let engine run at idle for about 5-10minutes and give it a few revs to let it flow through the system and then drain it and change your oil as normal. this allows the deposits to be bulked up and be allowed to drain since sometimes they can hide in the crevices and all that jive with just regular drain and fills. and i also use the last 1/3 of can in my gas tank. stuff works great on any kind of motor and has been around for about 40yrs or so. a can costs only about 5-7bucks for the liquid. they also have others such as deep creep spray and another version but i have never used those before. i just buy the liquid can every 10k miles or so and let it do whats it intended for. it really does make a difference and can be noticed immediatly. quicker throttle response and all that. pretty good 5dollar investment.
let me know if you have any questions playa.. take care
and about that bnd aces stuff. it might be better but im sure its a heck of a lot more dough, and like i said i hear good things about from this forum although im not personally familair with it and havent had a chance to use it yet. i plan on buying some of his other products for some of my hot rods in the future. the oils he makes i am interested in mostly for great lubrications on our $50k all the way up to our $300k top fuel nitromethane burning engines. i keep running it by my dad to see what the thinks but i dotn think he has had enough time to research it enough yet, and since you know he is always at the various tracks running our cars. extra time is something he doesnt have a lot of as he is always busy, well except for when he is just taking the day off and enjoying some cold ones like when you met him when you were here when we did your green halos that day.

x2 on the seafoam. I use it in my truck and the car. I went from Lucas to seafoam in the truck{95 Ford with 250.000 miles} about 9000 miles ago I change the oil every 3000 miles, and the truck seems to run better. Same here on the bnd stuff. I'm not putting it down and in fact when I get some extra cash I plan on trying it.
With only 21K on the clock, you do not need to get one of the professional fuel system cleanings done by a shop.

Georgiaslim,
The ACES IV is more than adequate to get clean and keep clean the entire fuel system. If there is any carbon in the fuel system and/or the engine, the ACES IV will find it and delaminate it, dissolve it and get it out of the injectors and the engine.
I believe that you already use it right? I can't remember though.
The fuel system cleaners from the dealers are very aggressive and can damage the fuel injector tips. They have to attempt to clean it very very quickly therefore very aggressive as I said. The ACES IV uses detergents that are heat activated and progressively get rid of it without throwing it into the rings or getting it stuck in a valve etc.
I know a lot of people like Seafoam, but if you are going to use that, you might as well just pour in light cycle oils, napthalene, and isopropyl alcohol.
The light cycle oils produce more carbon after combustion process. The Napthalene will clean some carbon also but brings solvent into the oil. The Isopropyl alcohol attacks the fuel system and absorbs moisture but spreads it and promotes rust and attacks seals.
I have included the Seafoam MSD Sheet so as to know that I am not making this up.

If you need ACES IV, we have materials in stock to ship you.
