I bought this product (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_18450_Metra+AIP-FDCAN02-ID.html#) so I could have a AUX input on my REC. Got it in the mail today and the installation instructions were clearly written by someone who doesn't speak english. It makes no sense at all.

The connector that is supplied with the unit is for Fords. For Chryslers the instructions tell you to use the factory 10-pin harness but it doesnt say what pins to put the wires in..

Word for word the instructions say "By default the IPOD AUX output plug (3 pin connector) should be connected to the VES input harness (purple black, green) of the 10 pins t-harness. If the vehicle has factory VES use the Satellite input (white, brown, gray) of the 10-pin t-harness."

Any ideas or am I better off just going to a stereo place?

I still dont know what wires to put in what pins though. :-/

Is Sirius in AUX left, AUX right, and Aux Common?

update #2.. I found out the wires which need to be spliced. Im going to finish the install tomorrow.

If all goes well i should have AUX and Ipod inputs for $40. :)

Well I cut the Sirius wires, and spliced the AUX Input to the wires where Sirius would have connected to the REC. And of course it didnt work..

I could hear audio for a few seconds but then it would switch back to channel 168 and say no service or something like that. Any ideas on why it would be doing that?

Thanks

There are companies like pac, pie, and periphal that make interfaces for our cars. The only issues is if you have factory rear seat entertainment. Then these thing don't work.
